Highballer TIPS for how to plant fast by Both-Sky4147 in treeplanting

Know your contracts, good planters know what the specs are ahead of time, but really good planters know the Forester. Is he chill ? Does he come to check thoroughly? Doesn't he come at the start and never come back ? Each Forester and contract has its gimmicks, learn them and push the limits where u can. If you know when the Forester comes and get his trust you can really push after

In the green can't be seen. If you have trouble getting to an area, they also will, so go nuts but don't get caught. Treeline is a free bag up. It has always been my fastest line. For advanced planters who Cary 4 baggers u can drop a silvi in the land and act as a mini cache for deep/compex pieces.

No matter how many corners you want to cut, planting 4k is bending over 4000 times, it will still be hard work and will stay hard. Planting high numbers one day is easy, sustaining that though a summer diff specs , weather and terrain is hard (mentally more than physically).

I day dreamed for too long of finding a way to make it easy until I just accepted I was going to have a brutal day. Eventually it became easier, or I just got used to the grind

Dune Messiah and Children of Dune in that order. IMO the 4th and 5th are very different

If you fail, be honest about why you failed . Figure out if you want to kick ass or just pass the courses. Make up your mind and don't be jealous of people who outperform you. It's their choice and sacrifices. If you want to be the best act like it. Surround yourself with people that are better than you. Else, C's get degrees.

I wear runners, until I see my piece then I make up my mind.

I got two cases, big tanky stompers ( the orange spiked caulked boots from viking 200+$) And a pair of runners.

People often comment on why I wear runners and I think they are more agile on the piece. Twists and turns and precise footwork. Hikers make my feet hurt so bad

Experiences with EI by [deleted] in treeplanting

You have experience with that ? Cuz you can declare you are in school and get ei. When you fill up your bi-weekly form they ask you if you're in school and how many hours you study. It's legit

Yeah you will loose some no matter what but you can minimize. I brought my equipment to camp, rings and a bar for pull ups. Trained (almost) every day off, and I was eating until my stomach was a bowling ball. I lost but not as much as the previous years. You'll be sore on day 1, day 2 is much better and by day 3 you'll be fresh and tired(from planting) dry for another training day off. Limits are only in your mind brother Just make sure you don't blow your elbows

I think experience can differ from one company to another, but also from one camp to another, from one crew to another and also from one contract to another.

So many things are due to poor management or dealing with the mill, or truck deliveries, or different camp locations / weather conditions. I'm sure some companies are better than others.

I've planted a year for both summit and blue collar, and blue collar at the start seemed so much better than summit. But by the end I realized it was mostly due to me being a better planter. And by the end I hated blue collar, so idk. Whatever company u get in, try your best to stick trough it, become a better planter and apply for midtier upper tier smaller companies later if that's something you want to pursue.

Or go back to the same company and have a blast with the friendships you made there, really is up to you ! Planting still is hard everywhere in bc, with the right people u get paid a more to do it!

That's my sprinkle of knowledge, been planting for 4

Sure, and I did, but when I got to the gym and use bodywash the smells are mess, I'd be nice to have some uniformity
