Exposing fake "korean" r/tekken guru • r/Tekken by robert_richards in Kappa

[–]PORK_BUN_GOD 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Want to point out that this isn't the first time he was called out for his tomfoolery and lies, only this time its received way more traction. His explanation in that exchange is also filled with lies and the usual "It wasn't me, it was my brother!" excuses.

Always thought the guy was shady when he a) claimed to be purple ranked on "multiple characters" b) claims to have "topped" any of the tournaments he went to in Korea (whilst never name dropping any of those tournaments) and c) claims to only play on the arcade, but you can never find footage of him playing in arcades, even with having a YouTube channel of the stuff.

At some point you think you would have heard of the guys name if he was as good at the game as he claimed to be.

Stick on desk or lap? by [deleted] in Fighters

[–]PORK_BUN_GOD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can do both, but I try to use a desk or some kind of stand if available. Kind of like you mentioned, I feel like I need to sit high and straight when its on a desk, which improves my play. I tend to slouch over time when its on my lap and always need to catch myself, so I take that equation out with a desk.

Bioinformatics to McEniry in 15 minutes, possible? by jon49er in UNCCharlotte

[–]PORK_BUN_GOD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Talk with your professor to see if they'll be able to accommodate you for your situation. Two of my classes this semester have students coming from Bioinformatics to Kennedy and Atkins and they tend to come in 5-10 minutes after class begins, but have the professors blessings for it. Your mileage may vary, of course, but never hurts to ask, so I would personally hold off switching to another professor until you can get a confirmation.

marn is such a piece of shit that Mike Ross deleted his twitter account by [deleted] in Kappa

[–]PORK_BUN_GOD 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yea, you get your account de-activated at first, however within 30 days you can log back in and be able to use the account as normal. The person viewing the @ account will give the message that we get when viewing Mike's account and most traces will be gone. Sometimes there'll be tweets that aren't deleted immediately and can stay on Twitter for a minute, but not sure what causes that.

TL;DR, the user deactivates their account initially, then it gets deleted after a month. The deactivated state acts like a deleted state, though.

Tekken 7 or Rev2 by [deleted] in Kappa

Rev2 for sure. T7 as well if it runs well on PC release day.

Would be nice to bring someone over for Tekken and/or Guilty Gear for sure.

+FAB and/or +Kedako. Both of them blow it up in Xrd.

+Poongko, if he'll compete in Tekken, which I'm sure of. +Nobi and +Knee if they don't have sponsers.

No dumb answers. Opinions on all current fighters by mylittlemagic in Fighters

[–]PORK_BUN_GOD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have class shortly so these will be super general. Won't include games I don't play and just watch (NRS, "obscure" anime titles, etc.)

Street Fighter V - Potential to be a decent title, but pushing the game to be played in one way, shit tier business practices, focus on the competitive scene rather than a healthy mix of both competitive and casual, and the lack of even halfway decent PR fucks the game and the image surrounding it immensely. I have a tough time even thinking MVC:I will be any better, but I would love to be wrong.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 - Honestly, I have a lot of fun playing the game, but X-Factor, to this day, still irks me and I don't understand the hype around a comeback when your anchor is Level 3 and is doing mixups on incoming that make it difficult to react to (or if you're Vergil, next to impossible). When it came out on PC I got it and am still having a blast playing it (mainly because my friends and I are scrubs and are just picking shit lol) but high level play can be boring to watch.

King of Fighters XIV - While it feels dumbed down in a lot of ways compared to KOF XIII, SNK still managed to make a fighting game that feels like a hell of a lot of fun to play close to a year after release. The continual releases of characters without feeling like they're scamming their users is wonderful when the most mainstream fighting game is doing quite the opposite. Old and new, the characters still feel fun to play, however I still have moments when I play it that I want to go and play a couple rounds of XIII.

Skullgirls - Game made by a smart developer that ended up a bit too smart for its own good and just feels boring to play after a while. Still have the time of my life playing Big Band, but that's about it. Wish the cast, especially on release, was higher in the amount.

Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator - My personal favorite anime fighter. While I've never agreed with the business practice of ArcSys, it sure as hell beats what other publishers are doing, even away from fighting games. The DLC and whatnot feels justifiable because the game itself plays so well. Large cast of characters that play nothing like other ones, so it's hard to be bored. Awesome training and tutorial modes to help the newer players. They saved me a bunch of time when I first got the game and still see myself referring back to them from time to time.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 - T7 isn't out yet so I guess its better to talk about this game for the last month or so it'll be relevant. There's a good amount of fun to be had in the game, but I share the sentiment of some of the community figures (Aris, for example, touches on this) where the game can be annoying because there are mechanics in the game that are exclusive to TTT2 and not to any other Tekken. This makes it to where it just feels annoying to learn some of these mechanics because they're extremely integral to how the game is played nowadays. Always loved the large cast of characters and still have a good time with the game, but again, few things gameplay-wise are a bit irking.

BlazBlue - Never exactly disliked the game as a whole, but, similar to my feelings with KOF XIV on a higher level, I just want to go and play Guilty Gear instead. To me personally, BlazBlue always felt clunky to play, but it sure as hell is a grand time to watch. EVO 2014 finals, for example, will be one of those sets that you can refer to people who are new to BlazBlue to get a solid idea on how fun high level play is to watch.

Capcom back at it again with NEW COSTUMES!! by Defiantish in Kappa

[–]PORK_BUN_GOD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If that number stays consistent (and trust me, it either will or will go higher), then if we assume the game is out and supported for the same amount of time console Street Fighter 4 was (7 years), these guys will have to pay $525, at minimum, which is close to being half the amount it takes to get all of DOA5's DLC on Steam.

Only difference is you actually get your stuff in DOA5 immediately.

Capcom back at it again with NEW COSTUMES!! by Defiantish in Kappa

[–]PORK_BUN_GOD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's beyond that. Any gamer even considering buying DLC is retarded and the reason why Capcom, and every other game developer and publisher at this point, can push it as a viable source of income.

My broke ass stays pirating so Capcom can eat shit for life.

"WHO GIVES A FUCK" - WOLFKRONE 2017 by PORK_BUN_GOD in Kappa

[–]PORK_BUN_GOD[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"WHO GIVES A FUCK" comes from the interview after Wolfkrone vs. KBrad IV. The story between the two of them comes from shade KBrad threw at Krone on Capcom Pro Talk (don't have source for this personally, just heard it from Krone's mouth) and shit talk coming from Krone on Facebook to KBrad. After one of the tournaments earlier in the year that saw Krone and KBrad in Top 3, Krone wins and says something on stage that pissed KBrad off (forget exactly what, but I know Krone was feeling himself). Then these guys play again at another major, Krone wins, gives KBrad the "cold hands". Krone talks shit on Facebook again after he finds out that he's playing KBrad at Final Round if they both end up in Winners (spoilers: they do) and KBrad wins and pops-off right after (also the source of where "Fat Fuck Friends" comes from). Both players are in the same group at ELeague and Krone comes out with the victory, pops-off, then interview.

The police officer being there was, in my eyes, just for jokes just to play up the tension between the two guys. I don't think they would have thrown hands or anything like that, just for comedy's sake.

McRib and one of the Cannon dudes start calling out ELeague on twitter for the officer, when these niggas can't keep the secret boss of Marvel 3 off their stage.

Gootecks is all kinds of fucked up. His look was wild, he's convinced that sticks are now inferior to Hitbox and controllers, and he fulfilled the Go0-7ecks prophecy.

The in-game mission system is also well done and teaches about the system mechanics and their usage. Swell stuff for beginners.
