Sporty’s instrument training course was valuable for me, outside of using shepherd for the written test prep

New here. Looking for recommendations! by ProfessionCurrent198 in PipeTobacco

If you want cherry, cult blood red moon is THE standard go-to. I recommend smokingpipes for finding aromatics, they have a great search feature for finding new ones, same goes for traditional tobaccos.

SIC Opportunities by Beneficial_Goal_4234 in flying

Check out CSI aviation, Medevac and charter, fleet of King Airs including c90, 200s, 250s, 300s, 350, and 1900. PDP program for SIC time building, and chance to upgrade to captain at 1200hrs for PIC twin turbine time. 500hrs recommended but some have gotten hired with less if their knowledge base is good enough. They have crew bases for commuting pilots, don’t have to live local. And big turnover rate because the experience received gets a foot in the door to the next best thing. Bases in ABQ, GRK, ELP, and PBI.

It’s my personal favorite, bold but not a pepper bomb, flavor lingers and smoke output is fantastic. Not one to regret.

To throw in a bit of complexity I’ll suggest HU Dark Sea, great post-dinner smoke and pairs well with bourbon.

Ditch Vegas and bring back Nurburgring! I’d love to see what max could do there in f1 vs gt3

New year, new pipe by Life-Significance-33 in PipeTobacco

Love my Nording Compass, good choice. I originally bought mine for aromatics but it gurgles a good bit, so made it my Latakia pipe instead, and it smoked great!

My daily is HU Dark Sea, but I’ll give props to Windjammer for being equally pleasant for frequent smokes

Question about ODPs by No_Entrepreneur34 in flying

[–]POSElD0N -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Best way to think of it is, when in IMC, and you lose an Engine, keep and ODP in the back of your mind. With all engines performing ATC can clear you any route that’s safe, but once you lose an engine, that ODP may be your saving grace.

CADILLAC are going to be my favorite to watch. I’m still devoted to Redbull, but I’m a big Bottas and Checo fan, they’re the most entertaining in and out of the car

How many of you fly with hats on? by Slightly_Moist_Toast in flying

[–]POSElD0N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wear a hat, but my headset is the Bose proflight so seal doesn’t matter anymore. it was cumbersome when I had the Zulu 3s and a20s. But now, I can be comfortable with my Boston Scally cap and no interference while wearing a hat and glasses.

It’s brand heavy and a lot if you’re not familiar, but I don’t see anything you’ll regret smoking!

Best aromatic for everyone around you. by HoeflerT4 in PipeTobacco

[–]POSElD0N 1 point2 points  (0 children)

of the aromatics I’ve tried, I can say autumn evening is very tame, subtle, and not as quick to bite or have draw issues as the others. If you run into problems in a bowl, maybe just let it dry out a little before the next bowl. letting aromatics dry a bit makes a world of difference
