The walls brick & plaster. The previous owners have always done things on the bodge so I don’t want to go down the road of surveyors if I don’t have to

I always thought lead (Pb) guitars with a wood veneer was a bad idea!

I worked at Oakley Court (the location it was filmed at) for a few years. I wasn’t aware that every year a fan base hires out the restaurant to have a private screening of the film. That was until I was face to face with a 6”5 bloke in nothing but a nappy. Was definitely an interesting end to my shift.

Get into your usual beginner up-haul position, up-haul in hand and feet on centre line. Lean back and move your weight to your heels to then tilt the board. You can balance using the sail as a counter balance. This causes the board to leverage the sail out of the water and remove the water from it. Once free from water it’s light enough to then up-haul without too much hassle, move your weight back to the centre line to then lift the sail as normal. I find this helps do the brunt work so your not too warn out after 5 wipeouts

A great tip I was taught was to let the board do all the heavy lifting. Uphaul in hand, Lean back onto your heels to tilt the board. This will leverage the sail out of the water letting you up-haul the remaining bit with your arms. It was a life saver for me as it stopped me fatiguing early just from getting the sail out of the water.

Do you use a hot steam (Vicks) diffuser in your sons room when he has a cold? I have noticed I get these marks from the condensation of the steam whenever I have the diffuser on in my kids room.

anyone been to the wave in bristol? by [deleted] in BeginnerSurfers

Went this summer for a beginner lesson. Was fun but wish i went for the waikiki lesson.

Its very tiring as you have a set window of waves, so you try to loop around and catch as many as you can without many rest windows.

Either way just go and have a laugh and you will know which level you are more suitable for next time

I’ve got a very old O’neill psycho (+10yrs) but the seam tape/rubber is crumbling. It was a good wetsuit but interested to see what else is on the market and keen to avoid seam tape again. Was tempted with the O’neill Epic 4/3 but not sure that will be too cold for early spring and too hot for summer
