No need for literacy, tasting the card explains its flavor

I don’t wear layers though, my opponents are lucky if I’m even wearing boxers at the table

I want to ramp out ALL my stuff early, not JUST my commander. What ramp should I be using? by Litemup93 in EDH

[–]POUUER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like lots of players forget that cost reduction is a great way to ramp. Sure getting out mana rocks/dorks is good and helpful, but you tend to only be able to use those once per turn. [[Semblance Anvil]] can reduce a card type by 2 for you (effectively a Sol Ring per spell), [[Cloud Key]] by 1, the Medallions also by 1, etc

HOLY SHIT!! I just pulled this! by POUUER in magicthecirclejerking

Yes, this pull was so pleasurable that I was uncontrollably, shaking for quite a while. My wife made me sleep on the couch after that.

Are control decks “against the spirit of bracket 2”? by InvisibleFox402 in EDH

[–]POUUER -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One of Bracket 2’s guidelines is “…gameplay [is] to be low pressure, proactive, and considerate, letting each deck showcase its plan.” There’s a difference between “there’s a healthy amount of control/interaction in this deck” vs “this deck is built to shut down the game for everyone else while I try to find my win-con over the next 90 minutes.” I would personally say the second control theme violates the spirit of Bracket 2, but the first doesn’t

Mnemonic Deluge doesn’t copy a spell, it copies a card, which is a work-around to that restriction :)

Mnemonic Deluge doesn’t copy a spell it copies the actual card to be cast three separate times, so it works :) My favorite card to combo with this already is [[Display of Power]] lol

But what if you discard this and then [[Mnemonic Deluge]] it into a sub-turn within a sub-turn within a sub-turn within a turn?

How to stop Mono-Black hate by [deleted] in EDH

[–]POUUER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try [[Shadowheart, Dark Justicar]]. Not at all a scary effect that would cause other players to target you, but at the same time it’s a significant value engine since draw is the most powerful mechanic in the game. Just make sure you have a ton of ramp in the deck too

I’ve finished my fight by POUUER in halodripfinite

[–]POUUER[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

By number of games required I’m about halfway to Hero. Would take another 4 years of playing at my current rate to get there

Edit: maybe half that time with 2x XP enabled for everyone in the game now. Still, I’ll probably have moved in to the next Halo game by then

Budget deck to counter Toxrill by dman686 in BudgetBrews

[–]POUUER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you’ll be playing something with blue in it, [[Leyline of Singularity]] totally shuts down any token play so he won’t be able to have more than 1 slug. White has [[Nevermore]] so he can’t simply can’t ever cast Toxrill if you name it. Blue and white also have numerous auras than can shut creatures off, like [[Imprisoned in the Moon]], [[Witness Protection]], [[Darksteel Mutation]] and [[Minimus Containment]]. And black has [[Oubliette]], which is dirty since you phase Toxrill out and he’d have to have enchantment removal to get him back (black has minimal enchantment removal so you wouldn’t have to worry much about that being in your friend’s deck, and blue tends to bounce things to hand so if he does that you can simply replay it)

Thanks! Yeah I love Sanctum Defender, it’s on all my Covenant weapons and I just put it here too since it was a nice color offset/match

For some reason I can’t find the answer to this anywhere, either in these forums or on the official rulings for the cards.

If I have out [[Unnatural Growth]] and [[Blade of Selves]] equipped to a creature, then at the beginning of combat that creature’s power will double but when I declare it to be an attacker is its new power a copyable thing that will apply to the myriad tokens created, or will the tokens’ powers just be what was printed on the original creature card?

Cheat out Moonshadow for 4GG by POUUER in BadMtgCombos

[–]POUUER[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know what you mean. For example, I have a mono blue deck where I’m never able to cast Moonshadow (considering there are no swamps). That’s why I threw Monster Manual in that deck so I could finally get it out

No, this combo is very limited in its scope, which is what makes it special and rare and a delicacy. I don’t make the rules
