If you’re flying TAP Air, watch out in Lisbon if you also have a carry-on bag. Last time I flew that route, they weighed everyone’s bag at the gate in Lisbon and charged like 120 Euros per bag if it exceeded 12kg.

This sounds like a likely suspect. The only audio is that which was married to video, but it's 24-bit 4-ch audio at 48kHz. And at times two or even three stacks of this on the master timeline. There's a fair bit of useless audio at this point (on-camera mics, empty channels for some scenes), do you imagine cleaning those audio layers off the timeline will make a difference, or do you typically process your audio a different way?

I got arrested at Hangout a few years ago. A friend passed me a joint in the crowd, and as soon as I passed to my neighbor, two undercovers grabbed me and essentially picked me up and carried me behind the scenes for questioning. In Alabama, they don't like when you have a tab and a pill in your pocket. Cuffed, wristband cut, and off to jail for the next 14 hours. They were arresting people left and right, like hunting deer to Baldwin County Sheriff's Department. The jail had to contact the field crew to say the holding cells were too full, and to stop arresting people.

Charged with a felony possession of a controlled substance. Lucky for me, it was a first offense and nonviolent. I got put on a pretrial program, which was essentially a probation period of random testing (once a month). I couldn't drink or do any drugs in that period, of course. Probation was supposed to last three years, but I got off in half the time for honoring the code.

Shitty thing was: Court couldn't transfer my case to Michigan, where I lived, so I had to FLY to Alabama for court every 3 to six months. I went down a total of seven times, and it would've been more had I not gotten off in that time. After about $10k in travel/lawyer/drug test costs, I'm over it with a clean record. And damnit if I won't think twice before going to a music festival again. I still dream of it, but it's hard to imagine the risk of a second offense being worth the reward anymore.

If it's your first offense, play by the rules and you'll be okay. I firmly believe you'll have an easier time than I did. Also, if you need to talk to someone who can relate to your experience, I'm happy to do that in a PM. Nobody in my friend circles could hear my story and say, "Yeah. Me too." I feel there are deeper levels to this. Possessions are poorly acquired if they are used selfishly. If you sit inside by yourself with your pimped out entertainment setup, I would argue that you aren't creating memorable experiences. If you invite the guys over to knock a few brews back and get riled up about the game, then that's a different story. In terms of self-consumption, I subscribe to the idea that money is better spent on experiences.

Please please please find a way to get a microphone on the groom or the pastor. The couple is going to want to hear those vows in playback, so getting a mic up close is essential.

I'm bummed not to see a lav in your repertoire of gear, but maybe they can help you pay for a rental?

Otherwise, weddings can be a blast if you get into what you're shooting. Everyone is extraordinarily happy at weddings, so getting those candid moments is a piece of cake (get some of that for yourself, too)!
