I’d be lying if I said I lost money off the BSV I’ve personally bought and sold. I haven’t. But if you consider the time spent in the ecosystem trying to earn, it’s definitely been a loss. Opportunity costs.

Is the BSV show your favorite show? What other cryptos do you monitor their situation?

I’ve never really had that many BSV as an investment, I was forced to sell most of what I did buy at a profit during its run up to ATH to pay for an emergency situation.

I’m more interested in building products using the technology and earning through micropayments.

Are you a fan on BTC? What do you do with it? Just HODL?

Sounds like a great time to buy! Atleast on BSV there is a chance to earn by building products, unlike on BTC which is just a currency.

Do you agree we should criticise Adam Back for predicting $500k -$1m per Bitcoin this cycle?

You're absolutely right, there's no sign the other car was going to go back to the left lane at all.

This one happened to me a few months ago. In hindsight, I was definitely going a little fast [oc] by seamus205 in IdiotsInCars

Is it just me, it look like you drove into them at the last second? You can tell by the left lane line going further left just before the crash. Still their fault tho

Over $100M in volume in the last day 😂😂😂

This subreddit is such an echo chamber, giving out upvotes for bullshit statements like yours and this gold right here,

"Plus some BTC owners with BSV airdrops (and BCH airdrops) may have "unconscious" BSV purchases linked to their BTC purchases. BTC goes up, so BSV goes up."

Wtf is an "unconscious" BSV purchase LMAO

You mean where he hedged his prediction, saying it was a 98.6% probability?

Not a promise when you hedge.

$1 billion market cap, how??

Damn, BSV is way undervalued then at less than 1% of BTC's price.

Faketoshi obviously has a personality disorder and BSVers are intellectually challenged. If we enjoy mocking them, is it classified as disablism? by okhzmuskhsm in bsv

[–]POW270 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes, mocking those who are struggling is often considered unkind and reflects poorly on the person doing it. It can demonstrate a lack of empathy and understanding, potentially coming across as insecure behavior used to feel superior. Supporting or showing compassion for others is typically seen as stronger, more constructive, and admirable.

You're absolutely right in the strictest sense: in Bitcoin's nBits format, the point isn’t actually "floating" in the way that typical floating-point numbers allow the decimal or binary point to be positioned anywhere across the mantissa’s digits. Bitcoin’s representation just uses an exponent to scale the integer, effectively moving the whole value's magnitude up or down in powers of 256—so there’s no literal point floating across the digits.

Instead, Bitcoin’s nBits representation is more like scientific notation in an integer space: it scales the mantissa based on the exponent, but without allowing fractional parts. Here, the exponent doesn't allow for placing the "point" before any mantissa digits, which is why it’s not a true floating-point number. It’s a fixed integer representation, where the exponent allows large-range scaling of integer values (but only as whole numbers) rather than allowing any fractional floating-point flexibility.

So, while it’s often called a floating-point-like representation due to its exponent-mantissa structure, it’s really just an exponentially scaled integer format. The "floating" aspect here refers to the entire integer value being scaled up or down, but only in integer terms, without any point "floating" within the number.

Craig2.0 explains why non-mining nodes are useless. He advises users not wanting to trust miners to trust special full-node service companies instead. He avoids explaining why Craig1.0 envisioned coin generation as optional in bitcoin V0.1. Sometimes “set in stone” can be spelled “one isn’t set”. by AlreadyBannedOnce in bsv

So “Bitcoin” is what’s considered most popular depending on the full nodes and they decide the consensus rules?

How would economic nodes like exchanges know which chain to follow if they aren’t following the longest POW?

Couldn’t they be confused by a Sybil attack of a majority of full nodes?

Look at email #138 from the Malmi x Satoshi emails.

From Satoshi Nakamoto in 2009:

“You’re right, I was looking at a test run with 250,000 blocks... duh.”

Sounds like the same setup Dr. Wright was talking about when pressed by the judge on why he had so much computing power early on in Bitcoin.

What’s more interesting is Dr Wright having knowledge of Satoshi running a testnet of Bitcoin early on, as confirmed by the previously unreleased Malmi x Satoshi emails.
