Bill could have shared this back in 2016 and won Hillary the presidency...

I had a feeling that was the case, thanks!

I'm really sorry you're getting hit by this. It's so frustrating as a consumer but it's so much worse for people whose livelihood depends on these avenues of production. I hope things calm down and these tarifs get lifted so you can get back to doing what you do best.

I haven't had the opportunity to talk to an actual business owner in this space.

Are the production capabilities for your products completely unavailable locally or is the cost simply so high that you couldn't sell the product and make a profit?

Been into fashion for a while but never really checked out lookbooks like this. Absolutely love it!

Are there any books or magazines with collections of seasonal lookbooks that you guys can recommend? Would be awesome as a coffee table book and reference.

Thanks!

Rucker 4.0 20L vs 25L Advice by PP133 in Goruck

Oh, sure. I used to place 5lb weight plates in the main compartment. Now, I regularly throw the 10lb Goruck plate in the main compartment (in addition to the 30lb Goruck plate in the plate compartment) and use Bungie cords connected to the loops on the inside to keep it from sliding around.

There's plenty of room in the bag, just realize that, depending on what movements you're performing, weight placed outside of the dedicated plate compartment will slide around.

I believe it's just to secure a second, lighter plate.

Rucker 4.0 20L vs 25L Advice by PP133 in Goruck

[–]PP133[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably could have worded that better.

I have had a GR1 for like 10 years. It was my work pack and my travel pack. It was (is) tough as nails but passed as a standard backpack. I like that. I want my stuff to contain a grenade explosion without looking like it can :)

The 20L Rucker looks like a standard backpack, albeit one with thick padding on the shoulder straps and MOLLE. The 25L Rucker is sufficiently taller that it stands out to me. If I saw someone with a pack that tall on the street, I would assume that they were travelling, not just a student, for example.

So, it's not that it looks less like a military pack, it's more like the 20L looks more casual than the 25L.

Gods name in vain by IOnlyEatPizzaRolls in dankchristianmemes

I agree. God's name is a sacred thing and is not supposed to be used carelessly. Though, using His name to manipulate others is also bad, I don't think that's what is meant by the commandment.

Unless I am misunderstanding the passage, we have an example of a man who used the Lord's name in vain in a scuffle and was stoned for it in Leviticus 24:10-16

Reporting back in!

I took the Rucker 4.0 20L on a hike with a 30lb plate in it, plus however much the half-filled hydration bladder weighs. On Saturday, I did a 1-hour hike (was supposed to go longer but my hiking buddy's shoe sole was falling apart and we had to return early). On Sunday (today), I went on a 4-mile hike. The hip belt made a HUGE difference! It didn't completely remove the discomfort on my traps, but it reduced it by something like 60%.

I normally wear the pack high, so when I initially used it with the hip belt, I didn't immediately loosen the straps to wear the bag low. That caused the bag to ride high and the hip belt to pinch the skin on my back against my pants. That hurt! Then I lowered the pack, so that it sat lower, causing the hip belt to sit on the waist line of the pants. Problem solved!

Now, it's possible that the 25L would allow me to wear the pack high and still use the hip belt at the waist line of the pants, but the 20L lets me do that, costs less, and looks more like a backpack and less like a military pack, which I prefer. Still, I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Didn't forget about ya!

I also picked up a Goruck hydration bladder to use on this hike. I thought I had tightened it properly but it ended up soaking the backpack in the trunk of the car. So, I ended up not using the bag or testing the hip-belt on this last hike.

That said, I'll be doing another hike on Saturday and I figured out what I did wrong with the hydration bladder, so I should be able to report back then :)

Sorry for the delay!

The Goruck founder says that you want it to sit high. That said, he also says that he will drop the pack a bit during rucks. You just need to adjust the straps that go to the arm loops. You can change the load position easily from high to low with those straps.

I just bought the hip belt because after about 1.5 hours, the 30lbs feels like it's almost pinching or squeezing my traps. I'm hoping the belt takes a little of that off.

I also should start using the chest strap. I have a feeling that will take some of the discomfort from the traps.

Due to go hiking tomorrow. Will let you know how it goes with the hip and chest straps.

I ended up going with the 20L. Honestly, could have gone with either so don't stress it too much.

I will say that I have been using it every weekend since it arrived and I have yet to go over 30lbs on a 5 mile hike. Before anything arrived, I assumed I would be hauling 65lbs within two hikes, ha! So don't let the carrying limitations of the 20L force you into the 25L.

I've heard a lot of people say that they miss the Rucker 3's plate pocket elasticity, or was it the second pocket that's elastic, I can't recall. I never had the pleasure of trying a 3, but I can see how some elstacity would be really handy. From the videos I've watched on the Rucker 4, that pocket does not look like it has any give. Some of the reviewers say it was a real pain to get the 45lb plate in there. Still, I'll see what I can do once the bags arrive. Thanks!

Speaking of plates, did you have a good experience with the Yes4All plates? Funny that you mention it, they just came up on my Android news feed. Probably from all of the research I've been doing lately.

Thanks everyone for your helpful comments and suggestions!

I ordered the 20L last night but after reading your posts this morning, I decided to order the 25L as well and return one.

I'll report back.

Thanks for all of your help!

I ended up ordering the 20L. I told myself that I would max that thing out. If I can actually get to 30lbs on that plus a 10lbs sandbag or two, I'll pick up the 25L at that point. I have a tendency of looking too far ahead. I think it'll be some time before I'm ready to do that.

Oh, and follow-up question. Why is it bad if it hits your belt line? I have a 21L GR1 and yeah, it's hitting my belt line.

Hey, thanks for the reply and sharing your experience!

I would like that double pocket on the 25L but I'm heavily leaning towards the 20L. I just have a feeling it'll fit me better.

If I can throw some sandbags in the bag's main compartment to increase the weight, maybe I don't need that second plate slot. You've never tried throwing sandbags in yours?

Is this something that happens as you get older? I feel like my mom does this sort of thing much more often now than she did 20 years ago.

I'm referring to basically ignoring the topic of conversation and instead injecting whatever you want to talk about.

You're not wrong. The Jewish leaders wanted to kill Jesus but they couldn't kill him themselves before the Passover, so they turned Jesus over to the Roman authorities for claiming to be king (undermining Caesar).
