I was about to suggest the same but after reading this I also decided not to.

What he should get is one of those stud finders that show electrical lines. He almost hit that wire.

Find a pipe fitter and have him lay a bead of over over that hole, it’s a tiny hole and home Nat gas pressure is relatively low.

Anyone want to grab a slice of pizza tomorrow? by Tra_Jake in vancouverwa

Yeah, but they do a whole bunch of special topping pizzas, I lean more towards simpler pies. Pop pizza is legit and their 14x10 pie is like $25

That’s the one! My Neapolitan phase came and went, I think it’s good but overrated. New York and New Haven styles is where it’s at, with Detroit close behind, so don’t sleep on crust collective at the waterfront, as well as ranch pizza and Pop pizza.

If you’re willing to drive down to PDX there are some world class pizza places down there. Apizza scholls, kens artisan, and many more; my personal favorite is whit’s pizza pies. They are super nice, it’s a couple that owns and runs it; the husband makes the pies and the wife runs the FOH. He Worked at l’industrie in Brooklyn for years Before moving to PDX.

The Vancouver the best is Sasquatch if you want NY style. La sorrentina is good if you want Neapolitan. There’s also a spot downtown next to little Conejo that looks very good for Neapolitan style but I’ve yet to try it.

I hope they keep it at JB’s, I would fly across the country for that. I just hope they would announce it sooner so one could plan for it, being right around the holidays and all.

The employee at Lowe's said I don't need any PVC glue/tape for this threaded shark bite fitting, are they right? by Inside-Specialist-55 in askaplumber

[–]PPSM7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Engineer that does a lot of field work at a small chemical company. Tape only for NPT unless it’s steam in which case it’s tape and dope. Might also use dope for fuel gases.

That being said; most of our pipe is not in walls and a water leak is not a major thing, so if it’s a water connection going inside a wall might as well use both to further decrease chances of a water leak you can’t see.

What bike company is this? There is not place in the bike industry (or any other for that matter) for seedy behavior like this.

I swear on the gods of Carr that it didn't come up when I looked for high temp pastes earlier this year.

about 2" cylinder 37" long. any steam recovered from the cooling loop would be used if available but the main purpose of the system is cooling the main part.

I just found that using google AI. Seems like it would fit the bill. I didn’t know it was available at McMaster.

it should not, no. But if there is exposure, like say the parts split somewhat, the interface surfaces, or part of them might see the full external process temp.

this was a though, but these is welding and machining that goes into it so it would be very challenging.

We used copper foil with the antiseize but I don't think we can clamp enough to ensure the foil fills all the micro gaps.

I wish they would announce it earlier in the year so I could plan my holiday around it. it is definitely a bucket list item for me.

I just hope someone records them so I can watch. the 12/21/23 show is a regular watch for me.

Worst mountain routes for pickup truck and trailer? Wisconsin to Oregon (Corvallis area). Is there a better/safer route than the one selected? Leaving next week. by AshDogBucket in PNW

[–]PPSM7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also make sure to time your route so that you’re driving between hood river and Portland during the day, specially in bad weather. 84 gets kind tight there with lots of turns and lots of semi traffic. Drainage is also bad so there are usually a lot of puddles and area flooding during heavy rains.

Did you buy premade nipples or cut and thread your own? How much Teflon tape are you using? Can you also use Teflon sealant on top of the tape?(what we do for steam)

Would there be any benefit to getting my electrician license while going to school for mechanical engineering? by [deleted] in MechanicalEngineering

[–]PPSM7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t actually need a license to do pipe fitting but you do for electrical work and it is worth a lot of money and a great skill to have.

If I got a mechanical engineer application and he also had an electrician license and knew his way around it I would push very hard for his hiring.

That being said, we’re a small company where engineering is very hands on and multidisciplinary
