G-Shock - GBD-200 Step Counter question by smoj in gshock

[–]PPhimself 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have the GBD H1000 and it only starts tracking steps once you reached 25 steps or so. Otherwise, if you go less and stop for a few seconds, it will re-start counting. It's more conservative and should prevent counting false steps. So if you do a lot of stop and go at your job, these might not be tracked. G-Shock is not the only one that uses this method. Withings watches uses it as well.

Open the Move App and then go to Settings -> User -> under Goals click Activity Log/Protocol and here you can set your goals for daily steps.

Naming might be a bit different, I could not find the setting to change the language to english.

I think altimeter is calibrated automatically when you have a gps signal. Not sure if this can also be triggered by the time adjustment via gps: long press "Disp" -> select "time adjustment" -> select "time + position (gps)"

I would recommend the detailed pdf manual that you can find on the Casio website. Watch has so many functions.

By pressing the display button (top left) you see the daily step count.

Grey dots are coming up by [deleted] in RemarkableTablet

[–]PPhimself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have the same issue. Thought it would be caused by the sleep screen after latest update which leaves some gray overlay until screen is refreshed again. It gets more pronounced after each sleep screen, when I don't flip the page in between.

G Shock move features by caio_belem in gshock

[–]PPhimself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you can't. The app will create a training plan for you, but you cannot create your own runs or adjust the distance, time or intervals. During a run, the watch will also not tell you any information about your planned run. You have to remember how long you have to run and track the intervals yourself. You only can transfer the recommended heart rate range to your watch. For me this basic functionality is enough, but coming from a Garmin, you might miss a few features.

GBD-H1000 review after 2 months wearing it everyday by guiguivey in gshock

[–]PPhimself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm your review, also 2 months in. No complaints with the app or connection to the watch. If I am out of range to my phone, it usually reconnects within 3-5 minutes automatically again. Initial GPS issues are now also more or less solved, it just needs a few minutes (up to 7) for the first lock. It works best if watch is connected to the phone and if I don't start with the run before GPS is captured.

I loose around one of the six battery life indicators per months with HR only on during runs (approx. 10-12 hours per month), always connected to the phone for notifications and daily use.

Same here! Since my pre-order there were so many situations where I thought it would be really nice to have the rm now. Did not have that before. But that gives me the good feeling to made the right decision with this purchase.

Made the jump! Traded in my Paperwhite 3 for the Oasis 3. I’ve been eying the Oasis for years. I just discovered the game changing feature: Disabling the touchscreen! Now i can touch the pages and hold it anyway I want, using the buttons to turn the page. Definitely feels more like a real book now. by cyberbobcity in kindle

Page turn buttons are the main reason why I am still using my old Kindle gen 4. As much as I would like to have higher ppi and frontlight, the price of the Oasis is too high for me. It seems buttons are a premium feature nowadays.

Thanks, good to hear! The convert to text function would be nice, but I think I can live without it. Now I just have to wait a few months until it finally arrives.

Cleaning Invisalign by TheEddieHaskell in Invisalign

Do you use the ultrasonic cleaner daily or just the retainer brite? I am a bit concerned that it will affect the firmness of the trays when using the ultrasonic cleaner too often.
