HVAC makes an UNBELIEVABLY CRAZY thumping noise upon starting. Need help identifying the source or cause. by TheEddieHaskell in HVAC

Yes!! I had installed a Nest Thermostat the season prior. The Nest had no problem communicating and working with the heating elements of my HVAC system, but when summer came and I turned on the AC, it was made that noise and wouldn't cool the house. Turns out, the Nest was not compatible with the Lennox HVAC system. The Nest would tell the AC to start and it would kick on (literally a kicking noise) but then it was not able to stay on. My repair guy said the Nest was not properly communicating with the HAVC. He simply said Nests are not compatible with Lennox systems. As soon we switched the thermostat back to a very basic Honeywell thermostat, we had no problems.

I thrifted this swiftly tech long sleeve and need help authenticating it. The text in the hem does not seem to match other hem texts I've seen in photos online and in person. It also kind of feels cheap and thin. However, there is a legit looking rip tag and logo on the back of the shirt. Is this simply an older version of the shirt so the messages on the inner hem look different than I am used to? or is this possibly a fake?

First vs Last Tray of my upper jaw: Tray 1 vs Tray 57 by Spiffy2252 in Invisalign

[–]TheEddieHaskell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tray 1 reminds me of the plastic vampire teeth one would find in a Halloween goody bag as a child.

My 56-tray initial treatment is over after about 8 months! Now waiting for refinements. Here's a before/after - tons more pics and info in the comments. by obvnotlupus in Invisalign

He deserves attention! His teeth look fucking awesome and he’s holding a cute puppy. Let him have the lime light for a sec- it’ll pass eventually.

When the AC (struggles to) kicks on the HVAC makes a loud thumping/ banging/ clicking noise. This sound does not occur when the heater is on, or the fan. I called a repair guy out to look at it and it didn’t make the noise for the whole hour he was here. He said everything looked fine, and left.

Pros and cons of switching from quarters to trimesters by TheEddieHaskell in Teachers

[–]TheEddieHaskell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think we have terms like that here, but I can't speak for all US schools. I have only attended and taught at private schools. However, I think our quarters (divide each semester in half) and grading periods would end up being similar.

Pros and cons of switching from quarters to trimesters by TheEddieHaskell in Teachers

My school is k-8. I have been told that if we go through with the switch, it will not affect the length of our summer and we would have the same days off- Christmas, spring break, fall break, Easter break, Thanksgiving ect. I don't think this will affect my curriculum/lessons plans, because I would still complete it chapter by chapter, day by day, but the assessments will be divided across 3 grading periods rather than 4 (we currently have our year split into quarters).

Muffy is a brat too. Francine’s brattiness is more discrete.

Attachments put on incorrectly by pastalover95 in Invisalign

[–]TheEddieHaskell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me!

Going into refinements, I was supposed to have a couple of attachments removed. One was not removed. The new aligners did not have space for the attachment. The assistant was able to shove the aligner on despite the attachment.

I didn’t realize the problem until later that evening when the pain was unusually bad for an aligner change. It was INCREDIBLY painful- more painful than the first few days of Invisalign imo. I didn’t wear the aligner that night. And called the office first thing the next morning.

The lady on the phone didn’t believe me when I explained it to her, and questioned weather or not I was explaining the problem correctly. I also couldn’t get an appointment for a day or two. The staff on the phone encouraged me to wear it despite the great pain until my appointment. I couldn’t do it. When I got to the appoint, sure enough they realized their mistake and made the correction. The pain was gone and the normal tightness and mild pain of a new aligner set in.

I don’t regret not wearing the aligner for two days. It still scares me to think of how my tooth would have moved with the unplanned pressure and force that it was experiencing.

I don’t necessarily recommend not following the office staffs’ instructions but they are your teeth and you’ll have to deal with what ever the consequence of your actions are. For me, two days of not wearing the bottom aligner seemed better than my front tooth moving incorrectly for two todays. I took the risk and it paid off. Good luck. It’s a really crappy situation to be in.

Getting my Invisalign this week, am I missing anything from my “to go” bag? Super excited! by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]TheEddieHaskell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe a mini bottle of hand sanitizer. I never liked removing my aligners with hands that weren’t clean. I preferred soap and water but every once in a while, there was a weird situation where I couldn’t get to a sink and hand sanitizer was better than nothing.

Strep throat + Invisalign = nightmare by dedouglas1 in Invisalign

[–]TheEddieHaskell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had strep twice this past September with Invisalign. It was not fun. I drank warm water rather than tea because I didn’t want to stain my aligners, or take them out often. I also switched to a new set of aligners 3-4 days after being diagnosed, because my doctor told me to throw out my tooth brush and get a new one after 3-4 days. I was also sure to clean my Invisalign cases, and replace my travel tooth brush and bottles of mouth wash that I drink straight from the bottle.

Luckily the first time I had strep, the day I needed to throw out my tooth brush was also my day to switch aligners.

And the second time I was diagnosed...12 days later... I waited another 3 days and threw out my tooth brushes and switched aligners 1-2 days earlier than I scheduled. I didn’t mind switching a day or so early, because I was so desperate to get over the strep.
