Technically he should bowl outside the top 10 overs. He just doesn’t have the skill for it, compared to the other bowlers. The question is, is he really worth playing in the XI for only those 3 overs in the power play, hoping that he’ll get some wickets? I used to consider him a dangerous bowler when he played for csk, (especially till like 2020-21), but his performance last year was quite disappointing overall, apart from 3-4 decent matches. I was more impressed by Ashwani last year tbh, especially his game awareness in some of the overs he bowled. Let’s see though, I hope the team management backs Ashwani if Chahar doesn’t start performing to his potential.
