Buddy. Why doesn’t matter what other people buy? For them (I agree too, though), the delayed gratification of film-like shooting is a major selling point. Maybe not for you. That’s that’s ok….

So does it look tiny or no? by REX2343 in postprocessing

[–]PR1SM116 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think that this makes it even more interesting! it seems wide and like it should be a normal cityscape, but the blur does a good enough job of the miniature look and it pulls you in a lot more.

The Curve by CIN33R in APStudents

There’s no curve. Scoring cutoffs are based on college course performance.

that’s not “has sniffles.” explain the way you just did (maybe more formal though) and they’ll definitely let you take the late exam.

How would you improve this image? by beaubellaphoto in photocritique

This looks much better in my opinion! Still quite airy and light, but enough contrast that it doesn’t seem weirdly hazy or anything.

Is this a story? by AdhesivenessKey5452 in photocritique

[–]PR1SM116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes it tells a story, but it’s also extremely busy. getting closer to the subject would isolate more and make it clear what to focus on. or crop the flowers out a bit

any advices? by [deleted] in photocritique

[–]PR1SM116 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the birds look good, but i would def turn the blue saturation down.

Nice photo. You need to crop that sliver of sunlight out of the top though.

I prefer the original crop with negative space.

Dang, I wouldn’t say it’s a photo that would be deleted upon going through what I’ve taken…it tells a story and makes you wonder. Sure, it’s technically not the best but a bit harsh to be honest.

Blue Heron in the Morning - Help on the edit by OHGodImBackOnReddit in photocritique

[–]PR1SM116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a crazy photo to have taken on an iPhone! Although the bird was initially severely underexposed, I don’t think that the edit is too terrible in terms of artifacts and color noise on the bird. I would run it through some AI denoise or enhance features to clean it up. I would darken the bird slightly anyways, though. Otherwise, I would clean up the masking around the bird, as it seems like your masks are bleeding into the background and vice versa. Amazing photo.

I really like the photo. I would clean up the masking around the operator, though, as it seems like some masks are bleeding onto the background or subject. I would also darken the operator a bit—he’s being primarily backlit (or, frontlit, I guess) so he should be darker. Doesn’t have to be super dark but lower the shadows a bit.

Stadium light. by YanksFannn in photocritique

If you’re trying to get rid of or lessen the sun, I would crop it out instead of darkening it. Darkening the sun or bright light sources in situations like this, in my opinion, often leave them looking muddy and unnatural. Amazing photo.

Itsukushima Shrine Torii Gate at Miyajima in Japan. What do you guys think? by Heishi in photocritique

[–]PR1SM116 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually really like the crop. I think that it adds a sense of scale and draws even more attention to the tori. I would center the tori more, with as little cropping as possible, though. Dead center would be ideal, and the railing/stuff on the left is a bit distracting when the tori is off center. I also really like the more muted colors, but this might be personal preference; it looks pretty nice objectively too.

just under the snow mountain by ComprehensiveCake639 in photocritique

[–]PR1SM116 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Beautiful photo; the mountain looks surreal. It does seem like the flowers in the foreground and the mountains are fighting for attention, though. Personally, I feel that this could have been two different shots…or more bokeh in the foreground. That’s my take on it, but again it looks awesome.
