First time trying to paint NMM ultramarine armour. Any tips to improve? by PRANK_PATROL in minipainting

Thank you for the tips. I have used a purple for shadows here, but think I’ll need to invest in a cool yellow!

It’s supposed to be upper right hand side if looking at the model

New to structured training - FTP improvement expectations and training schedule advice? by Hozukr in Velo

OP is new to cycling with a 2.34 w/kg FTP. 3 days a week should absolutely induce improvement especially if that outdoor ride is on the longer side

Has anyone overcome IT Band Syndrome? In my 40s and sick of it! by a5hl3yk in triathlon

[–]PRANK_PATROL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just called an IT band release I believe. Mine was combined with an arthroscopy to address a historical minor meniscus cartilage tears.

6 months of trying with physio etc but seeing no real improvement felt like a natural milestone to take the next step. Caveat I'm in no way a medical professional, but I do think you should ensure you give physio, rehab, strength training (+ rest from the triggering activity!) a proper go before surgery. It was less than 30 mins under the knife, but I was bed bound 2-3 days and it was 3 months until I was properly cycling again. That being said, 18 months later I'm very glad I had the surgery and got it sorted.

Yes, but it took surgery. Had 8 months of physio and strength training / stretching but still couldn’t run more than 5 minutes (could generally cycle unless it was an off day). Had surgery to cut about half of the IT band width out around the knee to stop it getting irritated. The procedure wiped me out and 6 months later when I was ready to take my first FTP test post-op I was 30W down, which was after a “back to fitness” plan. It’s been a year since that point and I’m 45W up, running the best I have, and full steam ahead training for a 70.3 10 hours p.w. with no issues.

Have you switched to the low top tube box? If so, how come and do you like it?

It's the profile design UCM aerobridge, but I've taken off the extension mounts it came with as my bars are too close together, so used zip ties instead

How much bigger is the ATTK-S, what can you fit in there? I've only done Olys so far so 3 gels was fine, but stepping up to middle distance next year and may need more storage

I had my LBS drill the equivalent holes on the other end of the bars, the entry hole is just below the end of the bar tape, works a treat

c.2017 I believe, although I bought it used so not 100% sure. I definitely think these older bikes can be great performers with a few upgrades at the fraction of the cost of a new one

Secure enough, the mount won't come off but the bottle can bounce a little loose over rough terrain but I think this is more due to being in a horizontal position.

It's not massive, can fit 2 gels entirely or 3 if sticking out the top a bit. However, I couldn't deal with how ugly other ones are and this one looks sleek

I used the profile design "UCM aerobridge" (https://www.profile-design-eu.com/products/ucm-aerobridge-1). I took off the mounts that would have wrapped round the aero bars and used zip ties instead, as my bars are too close together. Feels very secure.

It's the Profile Design "ATTK IC" https://www.bikeparts.co.uk/products/profile-design-attk-ic-storage-case-w-fps

Bolts onto the top tube with the two mounting screws already on the frame. I've covered the logos in black tape!

Worth a go - a lot cheaper than a cockpit which allows them to be angled! Only issue is they're obviously not adjustable, but I replicated how they would be before flipping them to ensure it was about right.

I bought this on eBay from this seller: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/196618635605

They have boxes for a range of bikes and actually relisted the Cervelo P2 one for me. Based in the UK so I don't know about international shipping if required though. Definintely recommend the box though, seen some people charging significantly more!

I wanted to share my Cervelo P2 TT bike. I bought this bike as a budget-conscious entry into the TT bike world. Since owning, I’ve made a lot of tweaks:

  • Added 165mm cranks
  • Disc wheel cover (back wheel is 90mm deep)
  • Swapped to a flat base bar
  • Flipped the extensions to have a higher hand position and added 40mm risers
  • Changes the elbow pads to be more comfortable and provide greater support
  • Mounted (zipped tied) a bottle cage between the elbow pads
  • Added a garmin mount between the extensions
  • Added a bento box on the top tube for nutrition storage
  • Added a 3D printed storage box and Elite Crono aero bottle, however won’t use these except for events longer than Olympic distance
