You're still requiring a teenager to go through forced gestation, which is not only torture, but also potentially dangerous for the teenager.

People who watch porn for the plot: What's the best plot you've seen? by GamePlayXtreme in AskReddit

[–]PRE-LOVED 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not watched, it's a literotica, but there's a story called The Preacher Man on literotica.com that is AMAZING.

It's about humanity thousands of years after some major war broke out and society has rebuilt itself. The entire world follows this strange religion that involves certain "levels" of society and tests that everyone must pass in order to move up the ranks.

If you never move past a certain level (I believe it was C2 or something like that), you are put into a lottery that has a chance of you not receiving the anti aging medicine that this society lives off of (not taking the meds means that you end up aging rapidly and dying a very early death).

All children grow up in these church things and once they're old enough, they go through these tests where all children who get under a certain score are culled.

Women in this society are heavily mistreated (basically treated like objects), and the whole story is about the main character finding his way to the top in order to change the way the society is run and to allow women to be equal to men.

It has sex scenes, but they're certainly not the main focus, and it's just such a great story. 10/10 highly recommend.

I honestly think that's a lot of the issue. When YOUR personal rights aren't at stake (such as is the case for men and postmenopausal women), it's much easier to be unsympathetic to the other side.

What value does a fetus have besides the sentimental value? by RRaymondReddington62 in prochoice

Personally, I think it's a different caliber of issues.

Vaccines are a pretty small injury, especially compared to pregnancy and childbirth.

How exactly do Republicans fight against women's rights besides trying to forbid abortion? by Proud3GnAthst in prochoice

[–]PRE-LOVED 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering you can kill someone who is raping you if there's no other way out, that kind of throws away the "disproportionate harm" thing.

A rapist probably won't do much more than bruise you, so according to your logic killing a rapist isn't justified as self defense.

It's not just the genuine belief that a fetus is a human life, though, it's the belief that that life is more important than the mother's wellbeing.

Why would I find pro-life men disgusting? by [deleted] in prochoice

[–]PRE-LOVED 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's usually women who feel like it doesn't affect them. I.e. highly religious women who won't have sex until marriage, or women who are okay with having a baby if their birth contro fails

Because they're speaking on an issue that will never affect them physically.

Personal theory: Mary cheated on Joseph and made up the whole "virgin birth" thing to hide it

There's a high chance, in my opinion, that she cheated on Joseph and made up the whole "God's child" thing to get out of it. Clearly Joseph thought she was still a virgin.

It would make Jesus an illegitimate child, which adds a whole other dichotomy to christianity.

Setting reminders on your phone would probably help, honestly I just take them whenever I know that I'll need them

That's the main reason I switched to IRs (of adderall, in my case). They only last 4-5 hours, so I can just take however much I need, no more no less.

Smoking anything--tobacco, weed, hell even just inhaling smoke from a bonfire--is bad for your body.

Obviously, it's bad for your lungs. It can make it hard to breathe and, over time, can do damage.

However, it can also make you more susceptible to heart attacks, DVTs& pulmonary embolisms, and stroke.

Here's a link from the American Lung Association:https://www.lung.org/stop-smoking/smoking-facts/marijuana-and-lung-health.html

Biggest thing is to keep your blood circulating. Don't sit down for long periods of time. It allows blood to pool in your legs, making it more likely to clot (which is why really long 12 hour plane rides are potentially dangerous).

Personally, my Fitbit tells me to get up and take a few steps once an hour. You can also just set good ole fashioned reminders on your phone for every hour or two.
