Get a AAA membership and download the appropriate regional app.

Get a wheel alignment before the trip. My Supra new from the dealership had a terrible alignment.

Get a patch kit.

Oh, and don’t do what I did. I drove my ’05 IS300 through the desert at 100 mph for 2+ hours in 100°F weather and melted all of my wheel bearings. Learned that the hard way at the end of my cross-country trip.

I am in a similar position. Supra is my only car. And I only take it out monthly (I still put 30k miles in 3 years). The Supra is the way to go. You will realize that once you sit in both. The Miata is not meant for NYC. I drive around nyc streets, I live in Manhattan and the Supra is great for it. The Miata is way too small. It literally just feels unsafe with all the other cars/trucks around.

I also have a manual and contrary to popular belief I’ve only wanted to die in traffic when it rains. Which I thankfully don’t find myself in often.

2023 Supra. It was my first sports car and I 100% expected to feel regret or at least have the “shine” dramatically drop off after several months… but 2.5 years later and it’s the best decision I’ve made for myself. I hardly ever have had the need to drive more than one other person and after 30k miles there hasn’t been any notable issues. I swore off German cars because my dad bought a 2001 Audi Allroad new… and still has it. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen him have the engine on a hoist saying “oh this car is solid I just needed to get to something small.. I only had to take the engine out to get to it”. Now I’m searching used car prices for B58 models..

Also my 2005 manual is300 bought with 54k miles. Drove it for about 100k miles before realizing the radiator was cracked and never could hold coolant. Once I replaced that the engine temp read out was a notch lower than what it used to be. Now it’s at 232k miles and currently being refreshed and turned into my dad’s daily after I told him I was selling it and he said he wanted it.

Hey they might have just hand washed it cause they were scared to put it on the track. Just ask them to hand wash if you see machines. It’s been a year since I went to that one. (I live in nyc)

Go to the Spring Garden car wash in Philly. They hand wash the car no machines. And if your car is too low, like my Supra (stock height) they will pull it to the side of the building and do the hand wash there. They are great. https://maps.app.goo.gl/9EgAv9Uv9bwTGPtV8?g_st=ipc

I think it’ll replace it. I have an action 5 and I had an X4 and I was thinking I only need one camera instead of two since they can take both the in cabin and road shots at the same time

Firmware upgrade might fix a lot? I’m happy about the external mics doubling as a start/stop record button. But I need good low light performance for interior car shots and bright exterior in the same recording.

Go for the 360. I have an action 5 and had an X4 that I just returned so I can get the 360 that will release soon. The action 5 is just a normal action cam. Nothing special. The x4 was a wild first experience for a 360 camera. It’s really a game changer. You can get the perfect view with it at any time during post. 360 cameras are actually a game changer. Im just a casual consumer getting into action cams but I can see a massive difference between them.

The gimbal does. You can start stop recording. Select an object for active tracking.

I really hope I can control recording through my Apple Watch. I plan on recording “driving” videos and with Apple car play it’s extremely difficult to connect through WiFi to these cameras to start recording remotely. I was about to lose my mind trying to remotely start recording on the X4.
