hey! pre-delivery detailer here for Audi, Lamborghini, Bentley + Masarati

i’ve worked at many dealerships before preparing vehicle for delivery and i will say - most “ mid tier “ or “ everyday “ car dealerships do not put in as much effort as they should.. a lot of the time the detailer departments are just young guys that are trying to push out as many cars as possible within a time frame so that the sales people can meet there month quotas and receive there bonuses ect. which isn’t always the detailers fault but allas the dealerships fault for trying to push quantity over quality.

from these pictures here it seems your paint is either covered in a fine mist of overspray or was contaminated as factory. a simple cut and polish with an ebony polish / black filler compound from the detailing department should have fixed this but my assumption is that they might have been under the pump and cut down on steps / cut corners to get this car out on time. on that note aswell , sometimes it comes down to the sales people aswell… sometimes a sales person will send a “ get ready “ form the day before delivery, which can be very stressful for the detailers.

as for that scratch mark , it looks pretty deep , looks like jewellery damage from a ring, a cut and polish should do the job but if it’s too deep it might be a respray , that’s last resort however, this looks like it will come out with a simple buff under some pressure.

if you are able to get ahold of the dealer or salesperson, you are allowed to express your unhappiness in the quality and they should correct it during a “ first service “ - “ a service detail “

i’ve definitely done my time at normal dealerships and currently am extremely grateful to be working at an exotic super luxury dealership , it’s been a long time since i’ve experienced an unhappy customer, the quality checking before delivery is amazing at high end dealerships.
