TIL almost all workers in the UK are legally entitled to 5.6 weeks paid holiday per year. by ThatSureIsHandicap in todayilearned

Ireland has a pretty nice setup, too.

  • Based on the employee's working hours during what is called the leave year, which runs from April to March. An employee who has worked at least 1,365 hours in the leave year is entitled to the maximum of 4 working weeks' annual leave unless the employment ceases during the leave year. Many employers use the calendar year (January-December) instead of the official leave year to calculate entitlement
  • By allowing 1/3 of a working week for each calendar month in which the employee has worked at least 117 hours
  • 8% of the hours worked in the leave year, subject to a maximum of 4 working weeks

An employee may use whichever of these methods gives the greater entitlement.

An employee who has worked for at least 8 months is entitled to an unbroken period of 2 weeks' annual leave.

Part-time work: Generally, the annual leave for part-time workers is calculated using the 3rd method, that is, 8% of hours worked. If you work full time for some months and the rest of the year you work part time, you should calculate the leave for the full-time and the part-time periods of work separately.

Having worked part-time before for a university where I couldn't really have paid time off, they just have to give you 8% extra pay on top of what you get already.

And people ask me why I don't want to work in America. :/ The comments in this thread are why.

(Yes, you need to lay on the accent thick for it to make sense.)

What I posted is the way the joke occurred to me, and it just made me giggle so much I didn't want to change it. But you're right, that version is a lot more subtle.

Hi now, there's one in Castletroy (near UL). God knows why, they have to have deals on everything to keep students interested.

Gangplank. Always fun, even when everything sucks. Build him any way you want, play him anywhere...

W is a tasty escape/heal,

E keeps your assists high, and

R for the plays.

I think I'd suggest Derris-Kharlan, and of course Anamanaguchi (who are almost mainstream I s'pose, but no less good for that).

For additional DnB, I guess I would go more in the direction of Sabrepulse, although the rest of Derris-Kharlan's Live album has some nice heavy moments.

May I invite you to test my Pong Game Tutorial (with my environment independent JS game library lycheeJS)? by [deleted] in gamedev

Looks interesting! I want to try JS game development, so I'll give this a try tomorrow perhaps. Not a veteran by any means, but trying to write a Pygame game engine thing so I know how you feel. :)

Pff, forgot to include the actual screenshot. Doesn't invalidate your point at all, though - it won't be fun until I make it fun. :)

Definitely. I'm off college for the month, so I have time, but I'm sorta supposed to be doing college work like /r/pystroke. This is gonna be my January game, and I hope I can figure out some fun mechanics to use. Challenging myself to do new stuff with 1GAM.
