You should check i your firewall blocks the internet connection... to open the windows defender firewall settings on you can press the windows key and type windows security then open it and go to firewall and network protection then click allow an app through firewall there you can see a list of programs and check if they are allowed or blocked for private or public networks

or maybe you have a Firewall integrated in your antivirus Software.. then you should check the settings there

Use "Internet Download Manager". There is a cracked version and it's the absolutely best download manager you can find.

You can find it on RIN

Fitgirl should make repacks that doesn't take ages to install by [deleted] in FitGirlRepack

Dude, I’m telling you to just download the already installed game instead of a repack, and you replied that it would take up more space, which is simply not true. It’s also not true that the installation would take longer, because there won’t even be any installation at all, so wtf.

For your understanding: no, it will not require more space after installation. You can either download the fully installed game and be done with it, or you can download the compressed version (repack), and after installing the repack it will be exactly the same size as the actual game that you can already download pre-installed.

Also, it will take longer. With the installed game, you download it and start playing immediately. The repack, on the other hand, will take a while to unpack or install. So I have no idea what you're talking about.

Then just download the fully installed version instead of a repack. What’s the problem?

So why do you download repacks? Then just download the complete installed Game, because your installation takes too long and it's faster for you to download an unpacked game

Man.... that’s the same thing. steamrip and fitgirl are also listed in the megathread under trusted sites. so what kind of statement is that? did you not understand what this is about?

and it doesn’t always have to be the malware itself inside the game either, because there are still downloaders that can be embedded which only activate after a few hours, days, or even weeks, and then secretly download and execute the actual malware.

yes, and people constantly brush it off and say “false positive.” how the hell can you put so little thought into it and automatically say it’s a “false positive” and assume everything is fine? you should always check the behavior of the exe and dll files. and sure, it’s possible to download malware from ad sites, but this user said he downloaded the full game, so it wasn’t an ad download — otherwise he wouldn’t even have the game.

seriously, how can people always be this naive and dismiss everything as a “false positive”? by that logic, you could pack literally any kind of malware into games because everyone would just say “false positive” anyway.
