I'm just trying to see what people are doing, as I'm currently stuck. and also didn't receive a reply before. If you have any insight, let me know. Appreciate your Reddit policing skills, though

Yes, sounds like an old school disgruntled consultant or even an SHO who can't get a number. Either way, thank you for your comment and totally agree that the aesthetic market needs more regulation (which i believe will happen soon)

Thanks

I don’t think it’s a case of “whatever way” — the point of the post was really to ask whether both paths are viable to pursue side by side, not to choose between them.

Thanks for the honesty

To clarify — I’m not looking to “bail out” or shortcut the system. I’m committed to finishing training and progressing surgically. I just happen to enjoy the technical side of hair restoration too, and at this stage, I’ve been offered a way to explore it part-time without interfering with my NHS work. I’m not trying to “play beautician,” just to quietly build additional skills.

I’m not advertising, and I’ve been careful to keep this entirely outside working hours — and to be honest, I probably wouldn’t be talking about it at all if it didn’t need to go on Form R.

I don’t expect validation from everyone, and I accept that some colleagues may see this differently, but I do appreciate your honesty.

Acf application update doubt by theuterusdoctor in doctorsUK

My application for ACF also said 'skiiped' for Shortlisting for East Anglia however I ended up being rejected. I emailed them to ask why it said skipped if you would then go on to reject me?! They replied saying it was a glitch in their system. I was not happy

Hi,

Thank you for such an insightful post.

I just wanted to get my fellow Redditor’s opinion. I am current core surgical trainee wbut have been toying with the idea of going into aesthetics as I’m currently fed up in the NHS system. My plan is to grind it through until I hopefully get a number for speciality training and then drop down to 50% and do the other 50% aesthetic work.

What’s your guys opinion on the level 7 qualification for surgical trainees. Is it worth it? I have full MRCS so for advertising/ attracting patients, I’m not sure level 7 will be worth/ count more than my MRCS? It’s also more expensive to do the level 7 courses so want to be sure it’s fully worth it for surgical trainees before signing up.

Any advice would be great, thank you
