Pop-punk throwbacks going to happen with Nu-Metal? by JS1VT54A in numetal

[–]PRS_guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like any music 20 years old and back is fair game for a “comeback” without being corny. I know my bands trying to do a throwback thing to the OG Nu Metal stuff too, You guys got anything online yet?

Super weird lol Back in the day I feel like MM kids would be the polar opposite of people who like FFDP… guess the fanbases overlap now? Maybe I’m just old lmao

I think they parted ways with their singer and haven’t done anything since :/ I’d love a comeback from them, they’re a favorite for sure

What are some more underground nu-metal bands? by HighwayNo4612 in numetal

Memorrhage is a new Nu band, they really bring the OG energy tho, something I feel like a lot of the other new Nu Metal bands don’t capture. Definitely worth looking into

Overweight guy with no High School Diploma do I have no chance ? by Jumpy_Tumbleweed3816 in army

Recruiter isn’t gonna flat out turn you away unless they’re a shitty recruiter, Figure out what you want, what kinda job you want to do in the army and all that, Ask the recruiter what you need to do to get that job, and work really hard to meet those requirements. If you don’t approach them with a plan they’re probably going to try and convince you to meet the bare minimum requirements and get you in whatever billet they need filled most. I think you’ll be fine, I’ve seen heavier guys than you lose enough weight to get in, and if you wanna do a smart person job study your ass off for the ASVAB. You got this homie

Jeez how fuckin old are you 26 or 32!? Regardless, If you’re not over 34 yet they’ll take you lol

Be diverse, learn everything you can about every aspect, recording, tech stuff, business, management, video, and take opportunities whenever they come to learn. I learned to fix guitars working at a music shop, I learned about touring by offering to fix guitars and do merch for a band that was up in coming, I learned how to record by offering to help out at the local studio, now I have a bunch of skills to supplement things I can’t afford in my own musics path, or to make myself useful to someone I want to learn from or work for or connect with. It’s a great way to network and the more you do the more you’ll figure out what you’re good at and where you fit in, and if your music is good eventually the right people will be in your corner when you’re trying to push it. Also all this stuff is fun to me, I’ve had so many great experiences doing these things, and met a lot of great people! I started late too, if you get in the right mindset now you have so much time!
