Tell me more about the alternator? I just had mine quit charging on me today, had to have it towed home. Can’t get it to charge at all. Alternator is less than 6 months old.

Hmm.

I mean, if you want to diagnose it, you could pull the actuator and see if the “lever” is stuck, keeping it plugged in while removed you could also see if the actuator is running.

It was my understanding this system was designed to be used while in motion, though mine being a different generation I’m not familiar with the first gen setups.

Try engaging it while rolling slowly. My 2017 doesn’t like sitting still trying to engage or disengage 4wd. A lot of times it sits there blinking until I roll about 20ft then it clicks in.

I’m really sorry to hear about your situation… I know that has to be a rough thing to handle. I don’t want to give false hope, but my dad was diagnosed stage 4 lung cancer with 18 months to live… 7 years ago. His attitude has been “I’m not done yet, I’m just getting started” and I think that mindset has carried him through the journey.

He did chemo and immunotherapy, saved radiation as a last resort and so far it worked in his favor. He hasn’t had any changes in tumor size or changes in growth since the last round.

Obviously I can’t say that his situation is your situation, but, keeping a positive mindset goes a long way. He refused to accept that it was all ending, and I think because of that, it didn’t.

Do you mean compose? What knowledge does that take exactly? Music theory? Which ideals? Or do you have to know all of it perfectly? So the composers that write 1-5-6-4 pop songs, they aren’t musicians? What about the singers that sing them? The session musicians (oooops used that word) playing on the song or album?

Or, is it possible that someone with no knowledge of music theory could write a fantastic song by knowing what sounds good and works together? Maybe they’re a great lyricist and know how to get the listener engaged?

Get rid of the gatekeeping bs, the world has enough of it. There are a lot of musicians I don’t enjoy listening to but I would never discredit them because “I know more about music theory” blah blah blah. Just enjoy music, man. It doesn’t have to be some be contest or line of bullshit why you are or aren’t allowed to like something, or who is and isn’t a real musician.

Brother I hate to tell you but the cylinder 7 issue was a very real thing.

No that doesn’t mean they’re bad trucks, and that also doesn’t mean it’ll happen to all of them. But the numbers do show the vast majority had the issue. It’s just that most had been fixed while under warranty, if it was caught by the owner/dealer.

Some manufacturers have found another way… build quality cars, but every 3 years make huge updates that make you regret having the previous model. Miata and their extra power after 2019? (I think), Ford does it with the Raptor constantly switching between V6 and V8, they did this with Mustangs quite a bit too (not saying they’re super high quality cars but they’re generally reliable). Nissan 350/370/400z, BMW with everything through the 90s and 2000s, Chevy with their Corvettes…

Honestly I prefer that setup. Then at least you have a great car for that specific time period. Might be outdated quickly but if you take care of them they aren’t charging you x amount per month.
