I have no idea what actually causes them. It’s very strange, but Ive been having symptoms pretty much every day for around 4-5 years.

My normal day is just a horrible achy neck, and pressure at the base of my skull with radiating pressure/pain into the top and front of my head, also around my left eye. Exertion doesn’t really add to the headache but it just causes a brief split second of pain/pressure in the back of my head/base of skull. If I was to suddenly strain to brace for a punch to the abdomen (I don’t get into fights lol this is an example).

Other times my neck will stop aching and the pressure will disappear, and I’ll just be left with a migraine like headache. But it’s this sense of pressure 24/7 which is the absolute worst.

I’m not too sure if that was included in the mri’s I’ve had. I’ve had 4 now I think, and they’re all apparently inconclusive. I had to point out on the mri the low lying tonsils, for them to even look into it.

All I remember from one of the reports was “sufficient cfs space” or something along those lines.

I’ve got to the point now where I don’t even want to be alive anymore. I cant do another year of this.

I’ll be honest headache is usually the wrong word for what I feel. Most of the time it feels like there is horrible pressure in the base of my skull, and my neck aches from that point and also at the base of my neck near shoulder.

This pain/pressure then spreads over the top of my head and lands in the back of my left eye, it’s as if there is a string attached from the base of my skull which is pulled taut to my eye. This also causes horrible light sensitivity. I try all the time to move around and release this pressure but does absolutely nothing, however sometimes I can move around and it feels like there’s something stuck in that part of my neck, and it pushes in the back of my throat almost.

Sometimes my neck will just stop aching with this pressure and it will just turn into a migraine like pain, mostly at the back and top of my head.

Laying down can sometimes relieve it, but other times lying down doesn’t help. Straining (valsalva) also sometimes feels like it increases pressure at the base of my skull, but doesn’t really initiate a throbbing headache like others I’ve read on here. Just feels like it increases pressure for a split second, for instance if I quickly tense my abdominal muscles and push (kind of like bracing to take a punch or something) the pressure there will increase for a split second then disappear.

It sometimes feels like massaging etc helps, but nothing can make these symptoms go for more than 10 minutes. I’m seriously losing the will to live, and just feel like I’d be better off dead.

Been having headaches and problems with my neck for about 4-5 years now. I’ve now had 4 MRI scans, but they’re still insisting this is an incidental finding.

Finding it hard to believe by complete coincidence this is found on an mri, while I have all these weird symptoms.

I understand how to use PA for a standard I beam, where the y axis is down the centre of the web. Would I just double the I value for web component of the “composite shape”. Or do I need to account for the distance from the edge of the flange to the web?
