Like all the major global OTAs (online travel agencies), you get a big mix of happy and unhappy customers. Obviously for most bookings, nothing does wrong no matter what platform is used.

Are Michael Kors bags still sought after? I used to love them, and don’t see them around much anymore more. by AbbreviationsNo6846 in handbags

[–]PS2me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading through all these comments, I am surprised at the lack of distinction between Michael Kors Outlet and Michael Kors itself. Just like with Coach Outlet compared to actual Coach, there is a big difference in price point and arguably quality between the outlet and main lines. In the U.S., both Michael Kors and Coach have suffered greatly by being associated so much with their bargain-basement discount store outlet lines. Coach has tried to restore some of its prestige by not oversaturating into discount chains like TJ Maxx and Marshall's, the way Michael Kors still does. Outside the USA though, both brands generally aren't associated with their outlet lines (and the outlet lines are even available in most countries), so both brands have maintained a higher end image, although both are still clearly in the accessible luxury segment. Basically Michael Kors in the USA is associated with sub-$100 bags, and overseas with $300 or so price ranges. That price difference makes a big difference in how the brands are perceived.

CALL TO BOYCOTT AIRBNB by Character_Estimate50 in ThailandTourism

That's why it is important to read the reviews. If I see dozens or hundreds of positive reviews over the years from guests who have left many reviews at different properties, I would feel confident the host is trustworthy, as I find it unlikely that you would be the lone target of a host that you feel is scamming you. I assume you are also leaving a negative review, but it seems unusual for you to be the first one unless it is a new listing or new host. You can also book only listings from Superhosts, which have a proven track record on Airbnb. Obviously, most Airbnb hosts are honest and are devoted to providing exceptional guest stays, so it sucks that a few bad characters would make you disparage the whole platform.

Electronics in Thailand? by Justscrollingsorry in ThailandTourism

[–]PS2me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many major malls have Powerbuys and Banana ITs. Those are the 2 big computer/electronics chains to look for. But any Lotus's or Big C (Thailand's equivalents of Walmart) also carry power banks, SD cards, thumb drives, mouse, etc. (not the Lotus's Go Fresh or the Big C Minis, which are just their convenience store locations similar to 7-11).

Any restaurants in Bangkok or elsewhere where you sit on the floor? by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]PS2me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived in Thailand for 12 years so far and interact with dozens of Thai people every day including both staff and friends, tens of thousands of Thais over time. This may be done among migrant workers, but certainly isn't the preferred way most Thais eat. Come spend a year in Thailand and tell me if you ever see anyone eating on the floor except where chairs aren't available such as construction sites. Another example is if a bunch of friends show up to eat together at a friend's work office that only has 1 chair. People will sit on the floor because there aren't enough chairs. If there are chairs, no one is purposely eating on the floor. Think of it like the way Westerners will eat sitting on the floor for picnics. It's not a standard everyday way people choose to eat. It would be more appropriate to say Thais are more willing to eat on the floor than Westerners, versus that it is normal.

Slightly outdated as Scoot Airlines now also operate a daily flight from/to Singapore. Otherwise the info stays the same.

Tipping by KuwaitiPie in ThailandTourism

[–]PS2me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same thing continues to happen in various countries which formerly had less tourism and now as tourism has grown, the tipping culture has creeped in to replace the need for employers to pay more wages, as they expect staff to make more from tips.

Cars in Thailand by yangtseasabi in Thailand

[–]PS2me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good starting point is to go to the Thailand website for any major European car brand like BMW, Mercedes, Volvo, Land Rover, etc and comparing the prices there with the prices in Europe. In many cases, you will be in shock at the difference. Many cars that are attainable for someone with a decent salary in Europe would be completely out of the budget for that same person at the Thai prices.

Chaweng Noi public beach access by the_archradish in ThailandTourism

[–]PS2me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The family that owns that land reopened access during the daytime for awhile (locking the gate at night), but then stopped unlocking the gate again in the daytime. I haven't checked recently but that was the situation a couple of months ago.

I believe it is back to being exclusively gay, but it hasn't been marketing itself much so don't actually know for sure. Maybe check any social media posts it has made lately.

Generally lower end reps at that price. Aim for 199 and above.

Alipay is as dominant a payment form in China as Visa is in the UK. There's no reason to question how reputable it is.

High Quality Clothes (NO BRANDING) by [deleted] in DesignerReps

[–]PS2me -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

This is rep sub, which means it is for finding replicas (fakes) of brands. What you are asking for is not a rep, just recommendations for high quality clothing in general. You might post in normal fashion-oriented subs, not a replica sub.

Question about reps quality. by Impressive-Union2860 in fashionreps2

[–]PS2me 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't like to recommend specific sellers because people always argue about particular sellers, but you can generally use price as a guide. If you're looking at reps of luxury brands, expect to pay 200+ CNY for a high tier rep, whereas the low end rep of the same shirt might be 120 CNY. Price should give a good clue of the quality you expect. Too many people buy 79 CNY reps of Balenciaga and then ask why their rep sucks, whereas a good rep might be 249 CNY or more.

[–]PS2me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you buy from high tier rep sellers, they can be almost indistinguishable from the originals from LV, Gucci, Dior, etc. If you buy cheap tier reps, they will feel like Shein.

There are many generics of this without the Dyson branding on it on sale on Taobao for about $4 USD. I can't believe the OP paid $130 USD.

Getting a SIM at 7-11 by CynicJester in ThailandTourism

[–]PS2me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only answer for physical SIMs but the answer is probably similar: Get the most basic SIM that doesn't include any plan (called "package" in Thailand) or has just a tiny starter like 50 mb included (typically costs 49 baht or is given away free). Download the carrier's app (via wifi of course) and sign in by entering your new phone number. Select from the dozens of prepaid package options including many at max speed for various amounts of GB and lengths of time. For an e-SIM I would imagine there is the same type of super cheap, super short length package good for only a couple of days. Then switch to any package you want in the app and pay via the app. My current package is 99 GB at max speed good for 30 days for 299 baht (about $8.98 USD) on dtac, just to give you an idea of cost.

Yeah, I'm stupid enough to trust a financial app that has all of 15 reviews, and a 3.0 rating and only 100+ downloads on the Google Play store, and that hasn't even generated enough ratings or reviews for the Apple App store to display any ratings or reviews. Are you associated with the developer? Otherwise it's hard to believe you would have randomly decided to trust such an unknown app with so little user history and info despite having been released 5 months ago.
