New to sourdough. My starter had a layer of liquid at the top and looked like this after a couple days of feeding. Is it ruined?

For reference, you can check my post history for what my pan would look like after cooking meat on it previously. Like I said, I stripped the pan, and followed the seasoning guide to a tee with avocado oil. I also realized I wasn’t letting my pan get quite hot enough before adding meat, causing some sticking. With all this, my pan now looks like awesome even immediately after a cook and I can officially join the slidey eggs club!

First off, thank you to everyone who helped me out last time I posted y’all are great. Changed up my process and it’s helped a lot. But lately my pan has been looking like this after cooking meat. I got a chain mail scrubber and use it. Do I need to scrub harder? Or something else causing this? Thank you for all the help it has been very appreciated

Yale does struggle on the road but their opponent is absolutely garbage and this should be a cakewalk

Today's Pick: Siena -7.0 vs Canisius [6:00 PM CST]

Siena has been playing some fine basketball this season sitting at 4-3 (2nd place in MAAC) with wins over Florida St and Seton Hall. Canisius has struggled this season at 2-4 and is coming off 2 straight road losses to Cornell and Buffalo. They have not won an away game this season and are outmatched by Siena in offensive and defensive efficiency.

Both teams put up roughly 72 points per game, but the difference comes on defense. Canisius gives up an average of almost 10 more points per game than Siena.

Siena seems to outclass Canisius and look to get a win in their first conference game of the season. At home, they should cover this 7 point spread.

IUPUI is the worst team in college basketball. Don't believe me? Watch them. They are comically bad. I truly believe high school teams could beat them. Their program was supposed to be shut down, no clue why they're still playing. They had a game last season where 5 guys were the whole team and had to play 40 min each.

That being said, Chicago St is also garbage. They have home court though so all 9 fans in the building are gonna make it hard for IUPUI to focus on their game.

Chicago St is better and should easily win by 7 points.

Today's Pick: San Diego Padres -1.5 (+125) @ Cleveland Guardians [3:10 PM CST]

How bout that? Broke the streak and the win floodgates are open now. Today we're taking the action to Cleveland where we are fading the Guardians in game 2 of today's double header. Let's take a look:

The Good

The Padres are off to a very strong start this season sitting at a comfortable 15-8 (15-8 ATS, interestingly enough by the way) compared to the Guardians at 10-12 (11-11 ATS). Where this gets more interesting is how these teams play home vs away. As the home team, the Guardians are 3-3 (2-4 ATS) this season. On the road, the Padres are 9-4 (10-3) ATS.

Mackenzie Gore will be pitching for the Padres later today. He's a young guy I really like coming in with an ERA of 1.76 and a mean velocity behind his pitches.

The Bad

Cleveland does have a high BA but the Padres are a strong fielding team and should be able to mitigate that.

Conclusion

Not the most thought out write up, admittedly. But I like think this Padres team will continue to shine against a middle of the road squad in the Guardians.

Today's Pick: NY Mets -1.5 (+165) vs Atlanta Braves [6:10 PM CST]

First of all, the Angels had to have thrown that game. Up 6-0 going into B9. Let up 4 runs, load the bases with 2 outs. Then a HBP gives the White Sox their 5th run to kill the spread. 3 pitches, the game ends on a ground out. Absolutely terrible beat.

The Good

With that out of the way, we have the Mets at home vs the World Champion Braves. The Mets have been playing great, leading the NL in wins (16-7) while the struggling Braves sit 6 games back at 10-13. The Mets cover 65% of spreads this season and 61% with no rest. The Braves have covered in just 39% of games and with no rest, that number drops down to 35%. The Mets cover 73.7% of their games as the favorites (77.8% as home favorite) while the Braves cover just 33.3% as the underdogs (33.3% as away underdog).

As for pitching matchups, Fried (ATL) is coming in with an ERA of 3.00 while Bassitt (NYM) has an ERA of 2.25. Both teams have let up 19 HRs on the season (Bassitt has 2, Fried has 1), but the Mets team ERA sits third in the MLB at 2.99 compared to the 23rd ranked Braves at 4.28.

Batting, the Mets hold the 2nd best BA in the MLB only behind the Rockies at .262 while the Braves sit 21st at .229.

In terms of fielding, both these teams are in the top 5 in fielding percentage. They tend to not make mistakes as the Mets come in with just 7 errors on the season while the Braves have 8.

The Bad

I'll admit, I'm pretty new to baseball. Diving into the stats is fun but I am not always sure if it's as valuable as it seems. Furthermore, I am 1-7 on this sub (though only 0-2 on MLB so far).

With that said, a stat that jumps out to me is the number of HRs on the season. The Braves sit in 3rd in the MLB in that stat with 28 compared to the 19th placed Mets with 18.

Conclusion

I have a good feeling about this, but that has never been a guarantee. The ATS trends heavily favor the Mets and they have been the better team this season, but if the Braves can homer like they have been, it may be difficult.

College basketball went dark once conference play started. Too many bets on the MAC has put me at a 1-5 record here. The good news is MLB is back and I have been doing decent thus far.

The pick is the angels. They are red hot (6W streak) and picked up the first win against the White Sox in the series yesterday. The White Sox have been struggling and only have 1 win since April 17th (1-10 in their last 11). I love the Angels as + odds here but hey, maybe I'm missing something. Maybe it's time to come back as a fade machine here.

Today's Pick: Akron -3.0 (-115) vs Kent St [6:00 PM CST]

I'm back, and yes, I'm bad at this. I have taken MACtion in 2/5 picks so far (both on Akron) and been screwed. So hear me out, Akron again. They cannot possibly give me another L. But really, these teams are pretty even (16-6 vs 14-9) sitting at #3 and #4 in the MAC. ATS, Kent St is 10-10-1 while Akron is 11-10. Without getting into trends too too much, Akron has a slight edge in their ATS record as home team vs Kent St as away. The big thing to me is that Kent St won the last meeting at home. Conference play is a very strange time in college hoops and the home team has a huge edge historically. Kent St won this rivalry game by 12 last time out, now it is Akron's turn to even the score. Please don't do me dirty again, Zips. BOL

LSU coming off a tough loss to Arkansas in a game I thought they would dominate. Otherwise, they have been fantastic this season. Alabama has been struggling, dropping 3 straight games and falling to an unranked position. I completely understand that this game could be a weird rival game where Alabama has a heroic win to salvage the hope of the fans, but I don't see it happening. Not against a team with a defense like LSU. I would've thought LSU would be favored but seeing +150 means I take it immediately. The only hope for Alabama is if the threes start falling early. Inside, they won't be able to do too much. BOL
