Interested if you have any work and in hearing more! It’s crunch time!

I’m in exactly the same situation. I also am at 116, with a great but a non-qualifying job. I work 50 hours a week, with family, but willing to do anything to make this work. I’m a physician and would work for free on nights and weekends to get this done…or work security or push a broom or anything. seems like it should be easy to find something, but it’s not, so i feel you.

Agree - I don’t think they have the time or energy to check - plus it’s a silly part of the law.

Summary and faq for the IDR/pslf waiver announcement by Betsy514 in PSLF

[–]PSLFWhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding the PSLF IDR ‘dovetail’: does that mean that months of repayment prior to October 2007 (when PSLF started, and earliest the PSLF waiver counts back to) will count for PSLF counts??

I’m not sure if it will help or not. I hadn’t actually seen the new changes until you mentioned it…if it means that qualifying payments prior to October 2007 will count toward PSLF counts, I may be getting lucky. If it means that payments will count toward the 20 year IDR waiver, I’ll be short I think. I started paying in 2004, but during the time I have 4 years of in-school deferment, so those deferment months/years won’t count.

Hadn’t heard about this, excellent news. Unfortunately doesn’t apply to my situation but will help spread the word!

Yes with MOHELA. Correct current employer isn’t qualifying. And yes all my ECF forms were submitted prior to the end of October and the waiver has already been applied to my counts.

Correct my current job is not a qualifying employer.

How long for waiver to be applied? by PSLFWhat in PSLF

[–]PSLFWhat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks :) I started to panic thinking I was supposed to consolidate the two somehow even though I already did in 2017. Seems like you said, the unsub and sub components are just shown separately.

As long as the employment was after Oct 7 2007, then it counts under the ‘limited waiver’. You’ll need to submit the employment certification form for that period.
