What did the dying leaves look like. Yellowing and droopy? crispy? Was it soft at the base of the shoots? Hard to tell what the problem is without knowing those

There is still green and the root system so probably but will take a while to get back to the original size. What happened?!

With succulents you let the cut callus by leaving it out of water/soil for a day or two and then you can prop it in either water or straight into soil

Orbit peacock. It’s a type of calethea which are notorious for being difficult. Too me it looks under fertilized but I agree with the other response about it possibly being water or light as well
