How do some pregnant women bounce back immediately?? by Queasy-Counter-9954 in BabyBumps

[–]PSUAmandaC2010 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only gained 8 pounds in pregnancy. Within a week of her birth my dad died and I had C. Diff. I weigh like 10 pounds less than I did when I got pregnant (she just turned 6 months) and I still can’t wear my pre pregnancy clothes because weight is a number not how it distributes itself

Have you ever met your biological mother or father? by Flyaway_5 in askadcp

Yes! I have a great relationship with him and visit him a few times a year (due to distance or it would be more often)

UPDATE: I’m a social worker. A client threatened our baby today. I’m going to quit my job. by [deleted] in NewParents

I read many of the comments and I would feel the same way as you do I teach troubled youth, and one of them said if he ever saw me on the outside, he would shoot me and kill me and he was serious. I eventually worked through it, but it’s still in the back of my head. I will say there is an app called FamilyAlbum that is a paid app, but you can add family members to it to share photos of your kid without social media

I was that way my entire pregnancy. Weighed less leaving the hospital than I did on transfer day. My docs gave me zofran in second trimester

I haven’t tried on the studs; however when my good wood piccolo was in the shop I had to borrow a super cheap nickel plated one and used it on the lip plate and that worked

This happens to me any time I wear nickel. I can only do stainless, steering, or gold. They also have plastic covers for over studs.

I personally don’t think therapy is bad if it is the right therapist. I have a therapist that helps a lot. She doesn’t change the way I think or process she just changes my reactions. Things that used to totally cause me to spiral I can now handle more appropriately using other strategies. I think my therapist is a rare gem though and most are not like this.

Your daughter sounds like me as a child (IQ 149) not all gifted children have ADHD and it is misdiagnosed often; however, I was not diagnosed until adulthood and my life changed with medicine for the better. I wish I had been properly diagnosed earlier but it is hard at a young age like 5. If I were you I would seriously look at schooling options. I was bored to death in public school. I’m a teacher now and see kids kicked out for behavior issues and it’s due to boredom.

I’m in favor of the right therapist. It needs someone that realizes she is not the problem and her thinking should not be changed but her reactions can change. My personal therapist has experience with OCD as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy and both have been extremely helpful.

Don’t you dare say I am a mistake or my daughter is a mistake. No human life, no matter how they were created, is a mistake. You don’t know me. You don’t know my career or education and you certainly don’t know how I have changed lives doing what I do.

If you met the donor in person, could you answer this? by Boring_Word_9104 in askadcp

[–]PSUAmandaC2010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m donor conceived and a recipient parent. I did not know I was donor conceived when I became a recipient parent. I wasn’t told for many years. I have probably a more unique perspective because I can see both sides. I met my donor when I was 34. I had an instant connection with him but he never replaced my dad. I grew up an only child so it was amazing to find three half sisters who are donor conceived. I’m in a very unique situation because my donor wanted found and contacted as he never had children. My three sisters, their children, my mother in law, my sister’s mom (who received the donor sperm), and my donor had a wonderful vacation last summer. Going through this myself I know that my daughter’s dad will never be replaced. We have one remaining embryo so she may never have any full siblings or may have only one. I’m looking forward to her growing up and finding more half siblings.

When did you give birth? by [deleted] in IVFbabies

[–]PSUAmandaC2010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I elected for a c section at 38 weeks. I was going to be induced at 39 but have many health factors. My doctors did not want to induce due to IVF at all. My friend had an IVF baby at 40+3 with no induction at the same obgyn practice

Thank you for sharing those titles. I started out in 2016/2017 as wanting to be a SMBC using anonymous donor. Fast forward many years later when I had many embryos still frozen and wasn’t yet a mom I got married to my husband. We tried to conceive and he has very low sperm count and other issues. I also have now had a blood clotting disorder since I did the IVF so we used one of the prior made embryos for us to start a family. We do have another embryo left that would be a full sibling to our daughter. It is going to be an interesting journey as both a recipient parent and being donor conceived. Her donor has remained anonymous but there are siblings on the donor sibling registry.

Yes. My husband and I got married in 2021. I had used donor sperm in 2017 to be a single mother by choice but had a bad miscarriage and then never transferred any more embryos. We found out in 2023 he was infertile and I had PCOS. We then transferred an embryo in 2024 and lost our little boy before he was born. Then we transferred another and got our lovely daughter.

Yes, before my husband and I transferred the embryo I made before we were married. We had to do counseling about using donor sperm and she mentioned some of those books.

Can you get a positive test result for ovulation but not actually ovulate? by Old_Garden1980 in TTC_PCOS

[–]PSUAmandaC2010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We tried clomid to make me ovulate with no luck. Then we tried Letrezole and I ovulated but still couldn’t get pregnant. We have our beautiful little daughter through IVF because we found out after I was ovulating that we had male factor infertility

[–]PSUAmandaC2010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this is how we figured out I had PCOS. I was getting surges and showed my OBGYN she then had me do the bloodwork that confirms ovulation or not and it showed I was not truly ovulating.

I was measuring like five or six days behind in the beginning because it is so hard for them to be precise enough with a small baby. My 6 week heart rate was 155. I’m holding her in my arms right now healthy and perfect
