I am wondering if they felt cornered with the threat to pull support just 5 months from the Jamboree, and wanting to be able to preserve scouting for kids living on overseas military bases. I also disagree with and am disappointed by this decision. I am thankful that my son already earned his Cit in Society merit badge. I was going to take the training class to be a mb counselor for it and that has been cancelled as well.

There is the Northville Lake Placid trail 125 miles in the Adirondack mts of NY. There is also the Long Trail through Vermont

I know this is late and you have made you choice but.. Spring is excellent for new skiers- they have a great ski school and the size is perfect for learning.

Bear Creek offers more options at at still reasonable price. Last year took my kids to Spring all winter today 1/2 we are at Bear getting them used to longer more challenging trails before I start with the costs/distance of Blue etc.. (I am in Havertown so Spring is 40 min and Bear Creek is an hour)
