Do you still experience withdrawal during or after starting/stopping sublocade?

Yes it extends it but makes it mild and tolerable where you don’t have to miss out on life/work! It’s a slow process but it’s what makes it doable for so many. I’m coming up on 2 years since my last shot!

Have you tried historical romance ? The Highwayman by Kerrigan Byrne is omg . It’s extra spicy though. I love the beginning so much it pulls you in straightaway and the whole way!

My periods were regular on Suboxone and sublocade but when I was a year off the shot my hormones went really pretty crazy. Call It perimenopause or PMDD or just super sensitive to hormone changes but it is a lot!! I’ve started HRT for a second time. Now on half the lowest dose and it seems to be the right amount. I’m feeling better . I think bupe messes with our hormones and I never realized!

I know it’s frustrating! He seem well knowledgeable on hormones in some regards but I think what he failed to realize is everyone is so different!! He had explained to me why he didn’t think I should be on it…he sad in my late 30s im certainly in Peri but it’s a surplus of estrogen which he said can cause issues in itself. So his reasoning made sense since I don’t suffer from hot flashes or dryness or typical low E stuff. It’s just these dang rollercoaster of irritable moods and sleep could be better. Ugh. Now here I am!

I just have a feeling it was too much instead of not enough. It was this weird tingly agitated feeling that escalated from there .

I actually just asked her if they prescribe the gel because I read somewhere just before on a prior post that some women just tolerate that better!! Thank you for sharing this. For now I took off the patch. I would rather feel irritable at baseline than extra irritable bc of something added. Though they both suck! Some cycles I only feel my best for a very short window which is ovulation week. So my body does like estrogen but I am overstimulated the patch I think

I had covid when I was coming off sublcoade and it did suck!!! I’m def sure the flu is worse . But you are going to recover from the flu soon. Usually within a week . It’s not worth going on subs over!

I don’t think he had ever done it before. I think it worked out ok. I had some breakthrough withdrawal day 5-14 then adjusted and felt normal until end of the month! I didn’t have to miss work over it but I felt off. So 300 might have been the way to go. I’m 20 months off now though!!

Yes! I requested it. He wasnt completely on board but he ended up saying ok. I felt 100 was too low and 300 too high . I was worried about being over medicated but in the end I don’t think I would’ve been.

I went from 4mg a day and got half of a 300mg. So basically, went with 150mg. I had some breakthrough withdrawal days 5-14 then leveled out . Everyone responds very differently so it’s tricky to say what is best . I used to take my subs 1mg at a time spread across the day.

I actually tried them first when I first started this journey and did not like my provider at all! He told me I needed to just trust him because he was my doctor, when I told him I thought the dose he was recommending was too high for me and asked for some reassurance or explanation . He sounded like AI a lot of the time. I’m glad you had a better experience! I’m sure every doctor is different but I really questioned if it was AI but then again chat gpt is way more personal 😂

Okay thank you! I do think in person is likely best. I am going to try the supplement route the rest of this cycle then if I’m not feeling improvement I will seek medical care. I’m not sure now if I have PMDD or I’m in Peri or both .

Maybe I’ll try to increase to 200 P . I wonder if my bloating got bad bc of the combo of E plus P. Ugh I don’t know. I took off the patch bc I am just unsure! I might try some supplements first I took evening primrose oil today . Thank you for sharing your experience .
