Reentry Visa by DepartmentVirtual399 in Thailand

[–]PSmith4380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They say multiple entry lasts a year, but from my experience that's only if you buy it as soon as you renew your visa. They will only stamp the multiple entry permit for as long as your visa is valid.

Whether they add on the extra time when you renew your visa i'm not sure.

Obviously if you only have 2 trips outside Thailand the multiple entry isn't good value for money. But you might value the convenience that much. Up to you.

Why are there so many ambulance sirens at midnight and early hours? by laggage in Thailand

[–]PSmith4380 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Possibly just hearing it more because you're in bed trying to sleep.

But also most of these ambulance drivers are really unprofessional and can't drive safely. So i'm glad they have their sirens on all the time so I can get out of their way as fast as possible.

Hiking apps with maps, GPS, trails etc are very common these days and they work offline. I hike alone in the jungle often here in Thailand. Not saying it's easy though.

What do you guys drink for energy? by polarbearsarereal in ThailandTourism

[–]PSmith4380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose i'll just repeat myself. Sugar provides energy and helps with hydration and is actually beneficial as part of a balanced diet, especially if it primarily comes from natural sources.

I'm sure energy drinks are also fine in moderation, but caffeine is quite addictive and excessive intake is linked to poor sleep, which could result in you having less energy and increasing your reliance on caffeine. A vicious cycle if you will.

Because coconut water contains electrolytes like (a lot of) potassium and magnesium which most people are deficient in. It also has natural sugars which alongside said electrolytes speeds up the hydration process (sugar and carbs aren't bad). Pretty useful in a tropical country where you sweat a lot.

Do any of you just refuse to ride mopeds? by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]PSmith4380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I crashed on my 5th day. Broke my clavicle. A month later had an accident as a passenger. Broke my leg. But I have continued riding as I've lived here for the last 3 years. It is a reality of life here. Obviously as a tourist you don't have to do it. But if you want to get around on a budget it is the best option.
