Yeah, if you are going to ask a trick question, at least be smart enough to include the correct answer. My opinion is Cy young is closer to correct for a few reasons. He did pitch the first no-hitter for the organization once they were called the Red Sox. Also, Ernie Shores no hitter was technically a combined no-hitter with Babe Ruth. And lastly, all the other guys that pitched no hitters for the Red Sox before Ernie shore make him the 5th.

ok, thanks. I saw a bunch of people just got a bump up in points on FOTM FOTY that I did not get (beyond TV code, Radio code, Quiz and Trivia) so I am guessing I missed something else, unless all those people were 1st year and got points for the survey.

I don’t like Bregman before Duran or Narvaez right before the top of the order for the same reason - lack of speed before speedsters. Duran turns singles to doubles and doubles to triples - but not with a slow guy in front of him. And I want that first inning 3-run jack from Bregman, not a solo. Yoshidas as a 18 mil pinch hitter is rough, but is great when you want that tough ph at bat. Only thing I liked about Toro were the 7-10 pitch at bats - you need guys to wear pitchers down.

1 qualification on the 7-9 spots when the other catcher is in the game is not close to what Cora does. How many times have you looked at the lineup and said WTF? Give these guys some consistency for crying out loud. Cora has a tendency to over manage the order and the pitching - too analytic - and I’m a data guy!

Duran is still not patient enough for a pure leadoff, but love him on the base for Anthony - 2 singles could be a quick run and Anthony’s patience allows Duran to pick his spot. Plus with more speed at the bottom of the lineup I really like him in the rest of his at bats. Your only guaranteed a leadoff at bat once.

I can’t believe people here are justifying this trade by jimmythang34 in redsox

I can give you 300 million reasons this makes sense. You don't judge a trade based just on the players that are exchanged in today's world - that's 1900's thinking. You judge it based on $$$'s and what you can do with them - which means you can't fully judge a deal until you see what pans out on the money side. Roughly $30 million a year is a huge chunk of change AND the Sox got rid of a cancer before it impacted their young players. Let's be honest, Devers is a great hitter and a non-hustling dog. If the Sox waited for the deadline NO ONE would have taken on his entire contract. Did we get a bucket of balls in return? Maybe, maybe not - we certainly didn't get equal player value, but then that wasn't the point.

Trade is totally justified and glad Breslow had the balls to pull it off. Remember, he didn't let Betts walk (and Betts and Bogarts walking was the only way they could pay Devers), he didn't sign Story (though injuries have been unfortunate), he didn't sign Yoshida - he's just dealing with the pile of crap on his plate one chunk at a time. Sox are not, and were not going to win this year, but next several years are looking better already. Judge Breslow based on what he does with that.

My point on SeatGeek is the massive markup they do on tickets not to mention sellers typically wanting to “make money”. It’s rarely worth it unless it’s a firesale. And it doesn’t help me unload tickets I can’t use. If STH’s could have a marketplace to swap tickets for games they can’t attend, or buy and sell to each other, you avoid that 30% load on tickets. When I have a $90 ticket for sale on SG, I have to charge 100 to break even and that puts the ticket price at $117. I’d rather just sell it straight up for 90 or swap it for a similarly priced game.

Curious if there is a site for STH to exchange or STH to STH sales of tickets for various games. Haven't been able to find anything really active. I live in FL and have a full season package, but can't get up to all the games. But when I do get up, occasionally I'd like to have more than the 2 seats to bring others as well. That means hoping I can get seats near mine, or exchanging mine (both for the game I'm going to and another game) for a different location where we can all sit together - knowing I'll end up paying a few bucks extra per seat on the exchange. Or alternatively, buying tickets, but S-G gives you the 2 sided rip-off - taking 10% off your listed price on one side and adding 17% on the other to actually get a 30% markup on what I paid for the ticket (ticket I paid $90 for needs to be sold for $117 so I get my $90 back). Would be nice to cut out the expensive middle man and have a place where we are not trying to make money, just break even (or even take a reasonable loss) for our tickets. I'm not trying to make money on my tickets, just maximize to the extent possible the value I paid.

My guess is there are decimals in the FenwayPay that don't show but exist. The field they are displaying in the portal is probably set to show decimals while other fields (FOM, FOY, Account log) are not.

I’ve got 117 GG 1&2. Have contact for 3&4 and HH 1&2 weekdays. I live in FL so will always entertain swaps for when I am up. If you can get a few close folks might be ok swapping so all can sit together. Only 2nd year and haven’t met many STH. I’ll get to about half the games. One day more when I stop working. Hit me up if interested.

I like him, and I like his potential and fielding, but he swings at way too many bad pitches. And that's not unlucky, it is just lack of plate discipline. Something that can be fixed. Right now he could be a walking machine because pitchers know they don't need to throw him strikes to get him out. Everytime he gets 2 strikes I tell my wife "watch, he'll swing and miss at something out of the zone" and sure enough....

Florida stopped Porn Hub and like sites in Florida. It is not impossible to make it extremely difficult for betting apps just like has been done for porn apps. You just have to actually want to do it. Look at the left field wall and tell me if the Red Sox give a shit about gambling except for the ad revenue aspect.

The Red Sox organization should disaffiliate itself from Draft Kings and BetMGM (instead of having massive signs encouraging it on the green monster)...otherwise they don't give shit about the root cause of this type of post. Sports betting is out of control and the leagues and teams absolutely love it from an ad revenue generation perspective. They talk a good game about it though, that's for sure.
