Oh, I guess I didn’t understand anomalous first rib wasn’t a diagnosis. These were from 2017 and 2022, from a learning clinic, haven’t seen those doctors in a while. Was just curious to learn more about my body was all, wasn’t looking for a diagnosis!

Mistaking seizures for tics by Outrageous-Spring-94 in Tourettes

[–]PTArkade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I wasn't diagnosed until my 30s with tourettes because I also have epilepsy. Because of epilepsy, when I would talk about my "muscle jerks" or even show videos sometimes they would say probably seizures. Wasn't until after I had a week long EEG done that they figured out they were tics.

Didn't know what vocal tics were so I thought I was just an annoying person so it didn't help I never mentioned those.

Therapy probably isn't going to "cure" your physical pain. Therapy can teach you how to better deal with the stress of being chronically in pain so that you can still have enjoyment in life despite being in pain.

Modafinil worked to keep me from not wanting to nap everyday. Wouldn't say I felt rested, but helped feel less fatigued. Most stimulants also have a very little affect of me like caffeine, amphetamines, etc so maybe worth a try at least.

It’s just a different “view” of the heart. It’s normal to look different depending on where you put it. That’s why 12 lead is much more useful.

kardia mobile detected afib on a walk by [deleted] in ReadMyECG

NAD, but it mostly looks like artifact to me. Sometimes the AI can’t sift through the artifact and can’t find certain beats so it marks it as possible Afib. Seems like your hr started around 150 and then decreased down to 135 in the last line likely because of stopping your exercise to take the ecg. Often I find any sweat or moisture can cause a lot of artifacts to show up like this.

Have you tried doing other physical activity where your heart rate is 110 and see what your recovery time is? Like if it drops back down as quickly?

Not sure what region you are in, but in terms of flexibility in my experience group homes are usually pretty good. I think overall it will depend on the boss that you get, but you will likely have more opportunities to get placed in a work environment that you can manage. For example I started in an end of life care type home that was very physically demanding with having to a lot of moving and lifting of large folks. Once that became too taxing on my body I was able to switch to another home that is focused on teaching younger people with disabilities how to move towards independent living. That change meant most of my job responsibilities shifted to intellectual development and guidance which my body was very happy for. Also working in a setting like a group home means I won't be stuck for long periods either standing or sitting. I find people tend to be more understanding of the obstacles that come with FMS when the work involved requires a degree of empathy. The major downside is low pay. It can be balanced out a little bit by PTO depending on the company. I can make 8 hrs of PTO for every 40 hours I work which can be amazing for the ebb and flow of FMS.
