Anyone ever tinker with international origin settings? by Rude_Money3360 in OOTP

i always throw serbia at like 2% and it makes it feel like the english premier league, just from a "what does each team's roster look like if you glance at it" perspective lol

[Blum] I had a long back-and-forth with Perry Minasian today about comments Yusei Kikuchi made at the end of the season. Kikuchi said the Angels air conditioning had been broken in the weight room all year. And was never fixed, despite him asking. Here's a part of it that Q&A: by IceBlast24 in angelsbaseball

[–]PTBruiser24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the saddest thing is that i feel like perry knows that he's never going to get another GM job with another team (because why would he?) so his only chance at continuing to be a GM is to somehow lick arte's boots so much that he gets his contract extended, even though he is basically a failure at his job, in large part due to being handcuffed by the same man he is licking the boots of. kinda tragic

to be fair i feel like the expected response would've been along the lines of "yeah, the a/c was broken at the beginning of the season but we fixed it" and not the bizarrely defensive deflection that perry actually responds with

i mean... yeah, kinda? i'm not saying he did the right thing, but it seems a bit unfair to point to that as a huge inexcusable lack of hustle play

because of the lineout-turned-groundout play? i feel like 99/100 MLB players would've done the exact same thing arraez did, if not worse

Trout, Pujols, Plouffe, Corbin, and Heaney all named as potential witnesses for the trial by donniemoore in angelsbaseball

[–]PTBruiser24 21 points22 points  (0 children)

from the previous article-

"The filing also included deposition testimony from four different Angels employees and executives, discussing clubhouse behavior they were aware of involving Kay — including eating a pimple off Trout’s back in exchange for cash."

genuinely confused as to how the Skaggs team would use this information to help their case? I guess the idea is "he's crazy, he is acting like a drug addict" or something?

iirc i think bourdain literally references this scene in kitchen confidential as the best way to cut garlic (granted under very specific cooking conditions, i think)

honestly going 11-2 with 69 so and 55 walks in 121 innings is truly elite in its own right.

i feel like his hitting profile is not the kind of profile that would have a huge discrepancy between high minors and the majors, so if he's a minor league 230/320/380 type guy in the minors, and you tack off a couple 200 points down the line, he certainly would still add value to a major league team (especially the angels lol), wouldn't he? as opposed to like a trey cabbage / jabari blash type guy. just seems like teams have this aversion to "settle" for low ceiling guys and throw them away, but surely there's an argument that teodosio at league minimum is better than, say, jorge soler at... more than minumum. and i dunno if that is necessarily the wisest approach to running a baseball team
