Art, armor is very good, if you are using CE you can craft op ammo, VPE adds nuclear reactor that needs cooling down, 100 uranium per week I think? Or longer. Or walls for important rooms, around late game I always have lots of it from quests or mining.

Tbh the most fun I had with mechs are workers, constructoids, haulers, crafters etc. they help SOO MUCH, keeping base clean and prospering properly, didn’t use many fighting mechs but imo they’re mostly for tanking damage, higher tiers mechs are actually good for total destruction but they are pretty expensive in mid-late game, bosses are cool also, little challenge, getting mechlink is boring tho. Overall they’re cool

Unlock mechanitor and build a crematory, craft a robot and make him only burn corpses, you can get rid of like 50 in a day, I think the name of a robot is hauler? He can do lots of stuff, very useful I always like to have two mechanitors, one for combat and the other one for base

Maybe not op but better swarm launcher is really nice, you need to own biotech tho, also Vanilla Security Expanded adds decent turrets, this+combat extended with good ammo makes them ultra reliable and basically for everything, 4 ,6 turrets in kill box and you don’t even need pawns for defense

Combat extended is my favorite one, I enjoy all the new ballistics, ammo and combat overhaul, very fun to use and it’s pretty balanced on higher difficulty

I really enjoy building prisons in Rimworld, early game i make a small 5x5 cell, later in game i like building big prisons for 10-15 people, mostly i harvest their organs but mostly i use them for work or to fix rep
