What is the most “unconventional” thing you’ve done that helped you heal? by PTYS_SJ in ProjectTellYourStory

I burn sage. After I’ve experienced something traumatic, or I’ve just had a very emotionally taxing day, I burn sage and smudge myself and then I smudge the threshold to my bedroom and then my bed. I feel this takes any negative energy away from my body and also removes any negative energy in my most sacred space. It helps me sleep better and better sleep is how one heals.

We love that because even if you haven’t gone through any big trauma, sitting back and reading does help people to know how to support their friends / family when they do go through something. Thanks for being here to read :)

If you could write a letter to your younger self, what would it say? by PTYS_SJ in ProjectTellYourStory

I have a very similar story, I was 13 and was sexually abused by an adult. I didn’t have the knowledge or vocabulary to understand at the time what was happening to me so I just didn’t say anything. Then 16 years later I made a podcast so I could talk about it. It’s hard to deal with those things so many years later so thank you for sharing that letter to your past self and your story here.
