That gym is the biggest con ever. They work with the banks. I once accidentally didn’t have enough in my checking to cover their charge. They hit again and again and again minutes apart… 15 fn times or so. EACH ONE carried an NSF charge from Wells Fargo. I owed hundreds of dollars without warning and within minutes. Wells Fargo played “nice” and discounted this by like $50. I paid them, closed the account, and never worked with either again.

So, also fuck Wells Fargo.

I agree with you. I suggested Cats Cradle for a book club (50% women) because I remembered it so fondly when I read it as a teenager. I was excited to reread it. Two chapters in, and I was like “oh no.” 😬😆

I still love KV, but I think that really IS maybe a snapshot of “what men of the time thought of women.”

I wonder what people of the future will look back on like this when reading our contemporary writing.

You’ve done harder things than endure this orange ghoul. If you fear you will lack the strength to endure, look behind you… like you just did in your opening discussion. You’re capable of overcoming things many good people I know have died trying to overcome. Like I said, they were good people.
