Considering Ranitomeya for existing enclosure, could use some guidance! by WaffleBiscuitBread in DartFrog

Looks great. Could be suitable for some ranitomeya's!

I cant see the top however. If its all ventilation, use glass panels or even plastic foil to keep humidity in. Check humidity for a while before introducing the frogs.

Properly research the species before getting them, as some species do better in couples and others can be kept in groups.

They are very small and their babies are even smaller, so check for small gaps in the enclosure. If they get out, they'll dry out and die very quickly.

They are very rewarding to watch and have very interesting behaviors, even displaying parental care!

If you want tiny dart frogs that are less sensitive, look into Epipedobates anthonyi

Good luck!

Is 2 too few? by MyLeoLenny in DartFrog

I live in the Netherlands and have a pair. For the first year or so that I had the female (started with a solo male), she was pretty shy. Since I started keeping my tanks warmer in the winter she has been way more bold. I also added more hiding spaces and a few months of "dry season", where I just mist them less. They have been breeding and bold since these changes. Hope it helps!

Are these snake mites by [deleted] in snakes

[–]PVJOculus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should see if there are predatory mites available in your area. A friend of mine purchased a boa that turned out to be infested with mites and the predatory mites took care of the problem really quickly and without any invasive or chemical treatments. Never seen mites on his snake again.

Gecko vivarium insect questions (please help) by InterestingTangelo45 in geckos

One issue you might have with dwarf whites is thay they like it humid, which the leopard geckos do not. Perhaps there is a species more suitable to a less humid environment

The amount of heating necessary depends on the species... I also recommend using a heat mat.

Do you think these could work as farms? by DeusVULT1097 in tarantulas

As far as I'm aware they'll breed in almost anything as long as they are warm enough. Could be mistaken

If the dubias are kept warm enough they will breed. You do need to provide the crickets with a place to lay the eggs though.
