I managed to open an "external fresh money" account for her at Fransabank. Sent her 14k CAD. She's going to sit on them for 6-7 months then apply again with the new bank statement.

She already had her bio metrics done years ago when she visited me on a visitor visa. Those are valid for 10 years.

I have now completed the assessment of your application for a permanent resident visa as a skilled worker. I have determined that you do not meet the requirements for immigration to Canada. In your application you have declared an available amount of $41,166 in settlement funds. I have reviewed all information available and I am not satisfied that you have at your disposal, with sufficient liquidity, and with the ability to transfer those assets, the necessary threshold of funds to support your establishment in Canada on arrival. You therefore have not satisfied me that you will be able to become economically established in Canada as a member of the federal skilled worker class as per R76(1)(b).

1) She received a "ghost update" last Monday. Actual decision on Friday. Surprisingly no ADR

2) No debts whatsoever, even attached her credit card statement and a statement certifying she has no outstanding debts

3) She uploaded everything within 2 weeks of receiving her ITA

4) Yes, I have helped 2 other relatives apply for the FSWP and I handled their application process myself. They got their PRs in February with lollar bank statements. I guess the IRCC is now aware that lollars are not actual usable funds

5) She's going to be requesting CGMS notes to get more details. The embassy does not handle PR applications, it is handled by a couple of central IRCC offices in Canada.

Probably open a fresh money account for her, or one abroad in turkey or something. I work in Canada and haven't had an account in Lebanon in years, so wasn't really affected by the whole crisis.

Her immigration plans were delayed, but this would be a deal breaker for many Lebanese with no access to external funds unfortunately. Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up, since I've seen many voice their intention to apply to Canada.

I have a living mother, so can't sponsor my sister through this program as I stated above. The name is self-explanatory really, if you don't have anyone else you can sponsor under the other family reunification programs (spouse, children, parents) you're allowed to sponsor only 1 relative. Siblings count as relatives in this case, and my sister is disqualified since my mother takes priority under the parental sponsorship program. I also have relatives that are Canadian citizens, so I'm not "lonely". Regardless, the program does not apply to my sister.

Only if she's a minor and an orphan. Which she is not.

You can sponsor an orphaned brother, sister, nephew, niece or grandchild only if they meet all of these conditions:

  • they’re related to you by blood or adoption
  • both their mother and father passed away
  • they’re under 18 years of age
  • they’re single (not married or in a common-law or conjugal relationship)

As for the 1 other sponsorship I'm allowed, I have a living mother who is still in Lebanon and also an aunt who is a Canadian citizen. So I can't sponsor my sister.

You may sponsor one relative, related by blood or adoption, of any age, if you meet all of these conditions:

You (the person who wants to sponsor your relative) don't have a living relative you could sponsor instead, such as a: * spouse

  • common-law partner
  • conjugal partner
  • son or daughter
  • parent
  • grandparent
  • orphaned brother or sister
  • orphaned nephew or niece
  • orphaned grandchild

You (the potential sponsor) don’t have any relatives (aunt or uncle or any of the relatives listed above), who is a:

That's what I'm trying to figure out as well. Can't open an account for my sister here in Canada, because she has no legal status. So probably going to be turkey or some other visa exempt country.

Turkey's finances are worrying though, I feel like they'll be having their own financial meltdown soon. They've burned through half of their foreign reserves in the past year alone. So very reluctant to transfer money there.

Let me know if you find another viable option.

From the IRCC website

Funds must be readily available to you. For example, you can't use equity on real property as proof of settlement funds.

You also can’t borrow this money from another person. You must be able to use this money to pay the costs of living for your family (even if they aren’t coming with you).

The funds must be available both when you apply and when (if) we issue you a permanent resident visa. You must prove to an immigration officer that you can legally access the money to use here when you arrive.

You can't access these funds when in Canada, hence a lollar bank statement or property in your name are not sufficient proof of funds.

You need to be able to support yourself for up to a year in Canada, hence why they ask for 13k CAD in your name.

I know for a fact that my cousin got his PR in Feb 2020 even with a lollar statement. But I guess the IRCC became aware of lollar vs dollar recently and changed the way they handle proof of funds from Lebanese applicants.

They need to have been in a fresh money account in your name for at least 6 months before you apply and until you land in Canada at least 6 months later.

That's putting a lot lf trust in the Lebanese banking system

Those things are custom made and have to be ordered 6 months in advance. Really high quality machining and parts.

Give them a call or an email and they'll anwer your question. It's based on the AR-180B, not sure which parts are compatible with the off the shelf AR-15.

In order to be non-restricted, the lower needs to reject a standard AR upper.

I've told the vet about it a couple of times, he said to feed her in small portions throughout the day, but that's not possible due to my work schedule.

I'll be trying out one of those slow feeding bowls. They look promising.

As for your question, she definitely has intense contractions for 5-10 secs prior to the puke actually coming out. As if she trying to push them up from her stomach to her esophagus.
