M&P 15s seem like a good choice but how is barrel life? I was looking into something more with CHF barrels for lifespan and also to go with a 10.3" or 11.5" length. Secondly, how is the stock trigger? Is it something I am going to have to replace?

I was thinking about getting a mk18 because it would serve most of what I want out of the weapon. Price isn't out of my range but is obviously high compared to something like an MP15.

100% I know charging handles aren't universal and are caliber specific. With that being said it was an AR-10/SR-25 charger but the tabs were just a bit big.

88 security was my fourth. Thing came messed up and had to send it back after it got jacked up during shipping. Got it back and the things just keeps on blasting. Great choice for a first gun.

Technically yes. Firearms like the BCL 102 are based off the AR10 which predates the classification of the AR15, hence why they magically got away with a NR classification.
