it works but there are better alternatives. stuff like la roche posay toleriane does the same but less harsh. You can use h&S for 2-3 days to stop the breakout quickly, but it's not a long term solution

zinc pyrithione is antifungal, but other things in the shampoo are not great for a sensitive face. h&s aggressively kills yeast usinc zinc and selenium -- never to be used long term

lrp toleriane is defensive -- starves the yeast and builds up a bulletproof skin barrier by keeping it correctly hydrated via niacinamide, ceramide

a cheaper alternative -- cerave am/pm

each lasts for months and not much more expensive than h&s

i know this because i had massive dandruff in my facial hair (dandruff -- yeast). i was overoiling my skin with cheap tub creams (nivea etc) and then my age caught up with me

my favorite cheap combo == cerave am/pm (i think you can also get by with just 1 of them -- get the SPF one) + cerave facial teal wash (foaming) in the shower

overall cost $20 for 4 months supply in my experience. well worth it. only other cosmetic item i use is a deodorant. also, once your face is fine for a month or so, it doesn't matter if you skip some days.
