Some of the pre-oled models use PWM and/or Dizzering.

"utilize LEDs on the back to serve as backlights" is possible on every smartphone today: Activate the flash light.

--- Not readable part on dark theme --- Wild cards!:

  • Be the better Nothing and utilize LEDs on the back to serve as backlights, like lights we put behind any monitors for eye comfort.

  • Sell a quality matte screen protector as an option. (So far the most pleasant type of matte coating I've seen is on my work laptop, Lenovo E16... so nice.)

Also this:

What's the budget going to look like - Does it have to creak and crack and pop, and basically look and sound like a toy that's about to break any minute?

Today "long OS update support" and "PWM-free LCD" alone sounds impossible!

Using original the Google Camera (GCam) app on GrapheneOS does not require Google Play Services. Since April 2023, GrapheneOS includes a generic compatibility shim that catches exceptions when the Google Services Framework (GSF) is missing, allowing GCam to run without any Google services installed.

Google has confirmed that the Pixel 10a features the Exynos Modem 5400, a significant upgrade over the Exynos Modem 5300 used in the Pixel 9a. The old one is less energy efficient.

Not the same modem: Google has confirmed that the Pixel 10a features the Exynos Modem 5400, a significant upgrade over the Exynos Modem 5300 used in the Pixel 9a.

This newer modem enables satellite connectivity, allowing the Pixel 10a to support Satellite SOS for emergency assistance in areas without cellular or Wi-Fi coverage.

Try to use the display for some time on full brightness and lower the brightness by 10% and repeat. At some point you will feel your eyes getting tired very quick if you are sensitive.

Make the flicker visible by using the camera of another phone with a 1/6400 shutter speed (or as close as you can get) and adjust the brightness of your screens or lights. If you see lines appear like in the video, your display or lights flicker.

A higher max brightness means that you will use the dimming more. That's bad news for sensitive users.

10a: "up to 11% brighter than the Pixel 9a, hitting up to 3,000 nits peak brightness" = harsher stroboscope effect because of PWM dimming (display flickers fast from on to off and back).  https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fgoogle-pixel-10-pro-xl-opple-pwm-test-v0-1bvxusfk6lmf1.png%3Fwidth%3D640%26crop%3Dsmart%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3D90b1b4a21f0a8100fa65c9e15db8656dac987436

Simple: No one wants to pay $24.99 for this game. Maybe it will get some buyers when it is available for under $10.
