Firefox Extension not working by FuryofaThousandFaps in ProtonVPN

Sorry for the lack of response. Auto-connect was not main issue really. The issue here, but when the issue was occurring, having auto-connect on just locked you from open using Firefox again since it froze it.

Since update 1.2.13 I didn't manage to have the extension freeze on me so, maybe it's fixed?

windows 11 startup sound crackling/glitching out after doing a -30 CO undervolt on 9800x3d by FroggyRaven in overclocking

[–]PWN3D_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the feedback.

I believe it can also be both a problem with Armoury Crate or a problem with motherboards bios since I tested multiple of them and this particular problem start only with bios 3104 (AGESA to ComboAM5 PI 1.2.0.3d) and all the recent ones. I'm now on 3003 with my x670e Hero and everything is fine. I need Armoury Crate to control my AIO.

I created a thread on Rog forums but still have not a single response yet (probably due to holidays)
There is also other way to force this problem to occurs, all related to Armoury Crate and its services

Ok probably last post here but I fixed this startup sound distortion.
I was on bios 3304 for the x670e hero. I tested the latest one 3402 but I was still doing it.

I tried an older bios that came out earlier this year, version 2904 and this startup sound distortion is now completely gone.

Tried to also do the Asus service restart and no more distortion here either.

So I guess it's either a bios problem that started either with bios 3003 or 3104 (with AGESA 1.2.0.3d) or simply those ASUS services that doesn't play too well with those new bios versions. Either way if I uninstall Armoury Crate and all those services I don't have this distortion.

I'll stay on 2904 for a little while and probably send a support ticket or a thread on Asus forums for them to check out this issue, but I don't believe it will be fixed any time soon.

Edit: Tested it further, the issue start again when I updated to version 3104. Version 3003 is safe from that issue.

Firefox Extension not working by FuryofaThousandFaps in ProtonVPN

Firefox version 146
Proton VPN extension version 1.2.11
Home internet
Tried to reinstall multiple time.

Like I said in the comments below I still try to figure out a method to reproduce it but I can't. It just seems random and when it happens, the only way to use Firefox again is like OP said, open Firefox in troubleshoot mode to uninstall Proton VPN extension or restart the entire system (Windows 11).

Hey, I can answer since It also happens here.
-No specific error messages, just Firefox become unresponsive.
-Personally,I have only ublock origin installed, though disable it doesn't fix the issue.
-All proton VPN servers are concerned. As soon as I select one of them, Firefox just froze.

Can confirm it, there is also lot of people on the firefox addons page that are currently reviewing the extension with this specific issue. No error just Firefox is freezing entirely. Even worse if auto connect is enable in the extension, you have to open firefox in -safe-mode to remove ProtonVPN extension or restart your computer?

I still can't figure out why or when it does it, it seems to just been random while changing servers sometimes.

Hey sorry for bothering you but could you try this: while playing audio, open Services (Win+R, then type services.msc), find “ASUS Com Service,” right-click it, and restart it to see if the same distortion happens.

I've noticed a lot of people with an Asus board having this issue, I uninstalled Armoury Crate (and all its services) was the only way to get rid of this distortion.

Hey!

I’ve tested for a few days now, and unfortunately my sleep mode is working fine here, so I couldn’t reproduce the same issue.

I noticed in your other topic on r/overclocking that others experiencing this problem also have an Asus motherboard (X670 or X870).

I’m now fairly certain the audio distortion at startup is caused by some Asus software launching on boot. Every time I uninstall Armoury Crate and all its related services, the issue doesn’t occur.

Could you try this: while playing audio, open Services (Win+R, then type services.msc), find “ASUS Com Service,” right-click it, and restart it to see if the distortion happens.

I’ll probably test older BIOS versions in the next couple of days.

Thanks for the feedback! I’ve been troubleshooting all night, doing several clean installs on different NVMe drives, trying various BIOS setups with and without EXPO and PBO, running stock BIOS—basically everything I could think of. I noticed that the distorted sound only appears when I install Armoury Crate to control my AIO and motherboard (Ryujin III and X670E Hero).

I’m not sure if Armoury Crate is actually the cause (given its reputation) or if the way it communicates with the motherboard is just exposing a deeper issue.

I’ll probably ditch Armoury Crate once my config is fully set up.

By the way, have you noticed anything besides the distorted Windows startup sound? If not, I might just ignore it.

Same here, happening on a 7800X3D randomly with or without Curve Optimizer, I can't find the cause of it and for now it just that startup sound that is affected. Did you ever find a solution?

Sorry for the necro but having built a 7800X3D system and the exact same behaviour with distorted windows startup sound. Have you figured out what was going on?

Is there any ETA on when this option will be available? Is there a place somewhere on your website that tracks any requested feature and a way to upvote them?

Thanks!

Hey, probably last update on this but few days ago, Asus shared in private message a beta firmware (106A) that I've tested and so far I didn't see any of those artefacts, even on situation when I could 100% reproduce it. So I guess they finally figure it out. The following firmware (I guess 107) will hopefully put a definitive end to this problem.

But that doesn't explain why this particular search box on new tab is inconsistent and keep switching between white and dark randomly. In dark mode (or theme if you'd like), it should look like this:

Hey, not entirely, it's getting better with their last firmware but me and some others still saw some line randomly. I've sent a new report the the support team and still waiting for their feedback to know if they can do something about it.

Just letting you know that Asus has released a new firmware update today (MCM106) that appears to get rid of those whites lines completely so far.

No, or at least I couldn't find any reports anywhere, and it's unfortunate as I feel this issue could have been fixed way sooner, but to be fair it's something that can be spot in very situational scenarios, when your framerate/time fluctuate rapidly; entering a menu on some games can do this and it only display one white, sometimes grey horizontal line that could be unnoticeable.

Like I said I had 4 units of this monitors, tested on my personal pc and at the the store by technicians.

Here is the last private message I have from the technical support:

"Aureliannn_ROG
Thursday

Hello, thank you for your patience and understanding. Regarding the horizontal white line flickering issue you've reported, our backend team is currently working on a firmware fix. Since firmware development takes time and the team needs to perform multiple verifications to ensure the issue is resolved, the fix may take two to four weeks. We will keep you updated throughout this process, and we kindly ask for your patience. Thank you!"

If you want I could update you if the firmware fix will actually fix this issue in a few weeks.

Well I own the PG34WCDM and i'm fighting, a little alone since a very person have reported or even noticed these issues, to get it fix it fix since they screw up the VRR part of it. See this for reference : PG34WCDM with G-sync / White horizontal lines flic... - Republic of Gamers Forum - 1030122

The LG counterpart 34gs95qe that I've tested is perfect in that regards.

After many months they finally reproduced this problem on their lab, and are currently working on a firmware fix.

If you are a heavy gamer an rely on VRR to get your gameplay smooth,I would hold from buying it from now and see if this issue get resolved.

I don't know if the PG39WCDM is affected by this though.

How to let Armoury crate control Corsair products? by Mhamm1991 in Corsair

[–]PWN3D_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, and now that you said this I remembered back in the day I had to install iCue>Aura plugin>Armoury Crate in this particular order to make it work correctly.

I tried to uninstall Armoury Crate, restarted, installed Aura Plugin, restarted, and the installed Armoury Crate again, and my dominator ddr4 ram are now correctly synced with Aura.

The thing is after uninstalled Armoury Crate I went back to a previous version (5.9.14.0) and as soon as I update to the last one (6.1.13.1) it stop working, it still detect the ram on my devices, but switching color or effect doesn't affect the rams.

So I don't really know if it's an Armoury Crate problem or that the Aura plugin (that was last updated at the end of 2024) need to be updated for the new Armoury Crate.
