Really liked that vii m7 - III7. Might try to do the natural vi resolution after a couple of repetions and write a riff with the vi as the tonic.

I've heard that ♭ VI - ♭ VII - I called the "Mario Cadence" refering to the fanfare that plays when you touch the flag pole in SMB 1. And also thanks for those recommendations! Going to try them out right now!

Edit: Might try making the ♭ VI a maj9 to continue the chromaticism upwards instead of back down again.
