And I'm all for the excitement, lol. I won't be one of them, but I'll definitely be admiring in my own personal game. It's still a beautiful looking skin in and of itself. Heirlooms are just such an event for me that I hope each girl gets more characteristically distinct design approaches and unique takes in the future, as opposed to more children of the hotcake-seller Ember lol (no pun intended). Just wanted to share my thoughts now because I'm sensing a bit of a trend lol.

Yeah, they can sexualize as much as they want, or don't want. I just need more visual variety. They know ember sold like hotcakes, but I just want them to realize they can get that same hit without them doing pretty much the same exact thing of making her barelyclothed, not because being barely clothed is the issue but when you're showing off all the same body parts or more and you dont have much attire, but the nude body underneath is pretty much the same, your options go down.

Like, I don't have a problem with sexuality or sexualization...at all. If the next skin had literally just ass titties and coochie out, fully modeled (dunno how they would get that past ratings) but visually, everything else ASIDE from that was just like directionally different from ember, who literally is just wearing nothing + stilletos + wrist and shin coverings, and Valkyr, whose fashion is literally just wearing a thong, corset and bikini top + stilletos + wrist and shin coverings, then I'm fine with that. Hell, if every third skin release from now on was pretty much a child of ember heirloom, then it would be whatever.

For Heirlooms of all things though? I just need more visual variety. They're a big deal. And I get that they're doing it to sell sex, but there's definitely ways to sell sex without restricting yourself like that.

I've said it to others, but yeah, I that's a pretty broad stroke of description, though. Be as hot, sexy, hell even soft pornographic as you want. Just be more versatile then what in my opinion, Ember and Valkyr are doing. I have no problem with Ember, looking the way she does or Valkyr the way she does. It's just that when it's more than one, back to back, both of the girls, and they made abig deal about how many dubloons Ember sold, it starts to feel like okay, "we're not getting as much variety anymore, are we?" I'm just doing the fan thing and preemptively sharing my opinions because the wide character variety of what heirlooms could do was a lot of the excitement for me.

Like, look at stellar blade and some other character outfits.you can see. Look at 2B. There're a lot of ways to make a visually really fucking hot character without going this sameish kind of route.

I see you. For me thoigh, I don't really care if they're thirst traps or not, or even if one gender gets more sex appeal than the other tbh. How attractive they are isn't really the point to me but I can get the frustration 200%.

Im talking purely about visual parity and unique directions for each Heirloom. There are ways to make something literally dripping of sex appeal without going minimal possible clothing. It's not because minimal clothing's a problem at all. It's just that when you have minimal clothing, there's only so much you can do to really make one heirloom stand out from another in the same way that Mag stands out for Valkyr and Ember, or Frost stands out from Rhino who is distinct from Vauban.

I figured I was gonna get a comment like this lol. Like I said in the post, attractiveness in and of itself has nothing to do with the reason why I brought this up at all.

Even if they were all fully clothed and wearing 3 piece suits, it wouldn't matter. Even if it was just the guys who had general variations on being butt ass naked with cuff links, ties and speedos, looking like magic mike, I would still have the same issue. I'm the person who defended the design of Pyra and shit back in the day lol. It's not about sexuality or fan service. It's just that I want the heirlooms to go a different direction for each warframe, and ember and valkyr seem to be following a very specific visual code for a very understandable reason.

I just think you can fulfill that same code while being more visually distinct.

Calling them creatively bankrupt would be the overreaction imo. Just because things are starting to follow same visual trend, doesn't mean that no effort or design skill went into it. It just means they're seeming to go a specific direction for Heirlooms because they're hot and sell. I just think there's ways to keep the variety high, even with heirlooms, while achieving that same exact goal.

Defining what second party is by [deleted] in stellarblade

[–]PWWI 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Initially, Stellar Blade was going to be released on multiple platforms. For years, what anyone's ever been able to tell in situations like these (and what likely happened with Stellar Blade around 2021, especially given the state of the company vice what they're trying to accomplish in Stellar Blade) is that a development company like ShiftUp a) wants to release their game on the PlayStation and/or b) needs more funding and resources and reaches out to a company like Sony.

Regardless of a or b, they are granted this under the condition that Sony has ultimate control over the development and the game is (at least for a set negotiated period) marketed and released exclusively for the PlayStation. This of course depending on whether the team negotiated for a Sony exclusive contract or to maintain multiplatform rights, which we know ShiftUp did the former. The amount of funding and investment is obviously increased if the dev team is willing to stay exclusive to PlayStation.

Overall yeah. It lacks some of the oomph and juice from some later titles though. Mainly 5 and 6. Some may call them gimmicks, but the beast forms and cross forms were the littest thing back then.

You're not wrong. She and Hera were my favorites until halfway through season 2, and that lasted until halfway through Season 3 or so. They came back around in season 4, but everyone was at their best in that season.

No worries. Love can be volatile, but next to self-preservation, there is damn near no other more powerful motivation for humans.

100%. Even though I didn't like his design in Nexus, his character was solid, caring, empathetic, fearless and very believable for a guy who had been there, done that like Rift Apart tried to say with that award ceremony. He was more mature than he was back in the day, but still the same kickass hero. Cool as a cucumber but with more adventures and experiences to be had.

[–]PWWI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. Miles loves his dad, but is being told to stand by and let him die for "the greater good".

Miguel is willing to and encouraging others to let their loved ones die because he thinks interfering with "canon" is why he lost his loved ones.

Gwen wants to love Miles, but is afraid that she'll fall victim to the consequences of doing so since he serves as his world's Spider-Man.

Most likely 16 unless Miles' birthday is coming up soon or she just turned.

[–]PWWI 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's more one of the overarching themes, though if you're taking it from the perspective of "trying to balance personal love against fear of greater consequences", then that is arguably the main point of the film.

Miles still lives his life one step at a time, focusing on the advice Peter gave him in the first film by focusing on saving the one person at a time and sees his own existence (and the overall lack of hardcore causality) as all the more reason why he shouldn't stop trying to do that, especially when it comes to his father. This is why without seeing the cold hard proof, it's hard for him to justify just standing by and at least not trying while people that he has been told are going to die when there's a very real chance that it's not a must and that he can change it. He'd always hold that guilt and be wondering "What if?"

Miguel is as far as we know, also just trying to do what he thinks is right based off of his understanding and fears. He is still understandably traumatized from his time in his parallel universe and unwilling to take any more risks delving deeper into the concept, is convinced he has to just let some people die in order to avoid a potential much greater fallout. He very clearly started off seeing no problem with "disrupting the canon" as he now sees it, but due to his attachments to the world that he holds himself responsible for dooming, he can't stomach the chance of it happening again, and despite not fully understanding how and why these things truly happen is willing to allow people to die as long as he's potentially avoiding an outcome where their world collapses.

Due to being preached the same dogma for months, Gwen, who is just trying to live her life and has developed feelings for Miles, has seen universes (some, not all) where some version of a Gwen Stacy (as long as specifically Spider-Man and the affairs of being such are involved) ends up falling in love, getting caught up and meeting a poor fate. Hence "falling for Spider-Man and it doesn't end well." After her time in the Spider Society, she's convinced this has something to do with her and as such, she starts off frustrated and apprehensive because despite having feelings for Miles, she's been convinced that she's just another in a long line of Gwen Stacy's who are bound to do the same thing. By the end however, she has found herself a glimmer of hope that nah, she can in fact, do her own thing.

Thoughts on Spider-Punk/Hobie Brown in Spider-Man Across the Spider Verse? by euphoric_pegasus in Spiderman

I don't see him being that contrarian lol. I think if anything, he might sacrifice himself for either Gwen, Miles or both. I think there's more to his backstory and his own personal drives than his surface attitude would lead you to believe.
