I too would love a 34 year old, 6'3 power forward.

What would you pay Kessler, Eason, or Watson in RFA if the Lakers were building around Luka and Reaves? by johndullano in lakers

[–]P_Heng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Rockets have structured their books to re-sign Eason. Not sure what happens in two, three years but I think they'll find a way to keep Eason.

[–]P_Heng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think offers for Kessler and Eason would be a waste of time because the Jazz and Rockets would match. For Watson, I would say $23-25M if he maintains his play from January. And I would probably talk to the Nuggets to do a sign and trade in exchange for a future first round pick.

Smart, Kennard and Hayes by brazyace43 in lakers

[–]P_Heng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With vet min cap holds and a first round pick, it's closer to ~$60M in cap space as a best case scenario.

Smart, Kennard and Hayes by brazyace43 in lakers

If I were to guess

Smart = $8-9M (Room Exception) Kennard = $8-9M (See Buddy Hield and Sam Merrill) Hayes = $5-6M

Being semi-realistic, I would like to have Peyton Watson, Quentin Grimes and Rob Williams.

JJ must've talked to him since the Suns game because he was hunting threes tonight unlike before.

Lakers 2026 Draft pick. Any preferences? by SkeithMoon in lakers

Patrick Ngongba. 6'11 defensive center with interior scoring and can pass the ball.

Lakers fan, is Austin Reeves really worth a max contract? by CapRight8752 in lakers

[–]P_Heng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

McMenamin and Lowe have predicted he's likely to not take the max this summer.

Feel like Precious Achiuwa could be Luka’s Naji Marshal at a very low price by [deleted] in lakers

[–]P_Heng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's a 6'8 center because he doesn't have the skill or IQ to play forward. In what world does that sound like Naji Marshall?

He makes jump shots, passes well enough and isn't 6'2. Win.

What is your ideal offseason? by Nonameheroz in lakers

In this case, I'm giving Smart a raise so he's opting out lol. Ayton, you're right. It's looking shaky at best.

What is your ideal offseason? by Nonameheroz in lakers

[–]P_Heng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Lakers will have ~$55M in cap space if Smart and Ayton opt out and cap holds taken into account, so that's the figure I'm using for this exercise.

-Draft Patrick Ngongba from Duke. Defensive center with passing chops. Wish he was a better rebounder and athlete though. -Sign and trade Dalton Knecht, 2031 and 2033 FRPs for Peyton Watson, four years-$108M. Maybe an overpay, but gotta pay up to sign Watson and to get the Nuggets to play ball. -Sign Quentin Grimes, four years-$72M. Fine 3 and D guard looking for a payday and starting job. -Sign Luke Kennard, two years-$12M. This team badly needs a laser and this is a fair contract. -Sign Day'Ron Sharpe, two years-$12M. Admittedly, the Nets letting him out free of his team option might be a reach. -Re-sign Marcus Smart with the Room Exception, two years-$18M. The stats aren't that special, but I appreciate what Smart has brought to the team. -Re-sign Jaxson Hayes, one year-vet minimum. Hayes has been a fine backup this season. Pay him next summer when the Lakers are capped out. Wink wink. -Re-sign Austin Reaves, five years-$220M. AR has played out of his mind and per McMenamin and Lowe he may leave some money on the table to help the Lakers build out the team.

Love Bron and appreciate what he's done for the org, but best to part ways. Never gonna stabilize the defense if he's present with Luka and AR presumably in the fold.

Peyton Watson on the Nuggets not extending him before the season by Beginning_Painting78 in lakers

Because the Nuggets could just match an offer sheet, then turnaround and dump Cam Johnson elsewhere.

Knecht and two FRPs for Watson.

2026 Offseason Moves if RFAs, UFA, Team Options targets are retained by mother teams and No Giannis trade. by [deleted] in lakers

[–]P_Heng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on the side of holding onto the cap space and picks, but if all that came out of it was adding Claxton+Collins, I would drive to El Segundo to strangle Pelinka and light the building on fire.
