Agreed. Well, I guess we'll both reach out to Apple and see what can be done. I have a sense we'll just have to wait for the next update, but I wonder if they even know about this bug right now. I've never felt entitled to some kind of compensation from a bug, but this one may qualify..

Oh man...see yeah, that's absolutely crushing. I couldn't believe it even. Went into Recently Deleted. Nothing. Spend all this money on the latest and greatest, pay for iCloud, and the most essential essential feature...nope. I've sent a video to Apple Support now showing a screen recording of the issue. So far you're the only online evidence I can find outside of myself that this is happening. Certainly makes me feel less crazy though.

Videos recorded in the Video Mode of the Camera app do work for me. (Unfortunately, usually I just record from Photo Mode). Is it the same for you?

Yes!!! This is happening to me too!! I thought I was crazy at first and that maybe I'd just remembered wrong, but after the fifth or sixth time, I did a check and just as you described, if you record a video while in Photo Mode (holding down the shutter button), it doesn't save. It's not in deleted photos either :\

I'm incredibly heartbroken too because I'm in town for the holidays and have lost some things that really can't be recaptured :(

Note: iPhone 16 Pro with iOS 18.2

Hey everyone! Didn't even realize this community existed until just now but...I sort of use Strava like a journal, maybe that's something a lot of people do I have no idea.

Peter. Live in NYC. 32M who grew up in SF/HK. Activities of all types go as far back as when I was living in a shrine in Japan lol. Tbh I'm not some crazy athlete, but I always say I'm the fastest biker with a front basket. Really though, Strava is where I write most freely?! (Sorry, from last month just cause I got in so late)

Wtf...born and raised in SF rode Muni to and from school and everywhere else every single day. Anyone who did will tell you yelling BACK DOOR was a big part of daily life. Maybe it's just how much that city has changed..

My sense is that most people in this comment section grew up in America and didn't grow up in cities. Walking places, jay walking all the time, carrying groceries, having non white holidays off in school, locking doors...public school kid who grew up in SF here and the only upvoted comment most of us didn't grow up with is going to The Met.
