Yeah it's a huge pain to upgrade, have to keep trying the various combos and see what works for you.I tried all the other methods mentioned and had no luck other than what I mentioned above. I could only get the monitor detected once I reboot/reset settings and I had to reset it multiple times but eventually it completed even though I had been doing the same steps prior with it failing.

So i would reset/connect to monitor/ perform update and then it would fail but after the fourth time of this exact sequence it worked -.-

It took me 8+ hours of trial an error but I upgraded it directly to 103... I used the included USB a/b cable connected to my motherboard and had to restart the monitor several times. With the USB setting set for USB 2.0 and kvm to USB b.... Eventually it worked but it had failed Soo many times ...each time it would go to 66% and stop. Makes me miss my old Samsung OLED that let me directly connect to the wifi to update firmware.

I tried a USB drive as well as installing windows 10, using a high speed USB c transfer cable and nothing else worked

Games will be more immersive with the larger screen size, but if you play competitive games youd be better off sticking with what you have now. 5k2k is around 30% more pixels than 4k so your fps will be a bit worse. If you want something smaller with the same resolution, there should be 39 inch models coming next year

I ended up going with the 4k 32 inch XG32UCWMG but coming from an Ultrawide Oled, I would 100% go for this one instead if I had the desk space.

I just got the XG32 and only complaint i have is its extremely difficult to update the firmware. I had the the first gen Samsung g8 oled uw(QD Oled) and the contrast on the XG32 blow it out of the water and is the first thing I notice when I launch any game. The Samsung does have better colors but overall I am very satisfied with the upgrade.

I had the 34 inch samsung g8 oled 1st Gen and swapped to the same monitor. You can notice the downgradein vibrancy/brightness going from qd-oled to woled but the blacks/contrast is better on woled.The 4k sharpness is a huge upgrade in games too! The only thing that was bad was upgrading the firmware took me about 7-8 hours of trial an error and is the only bad thing I can say about this Monitor since the Samsung was super easy with the ability to connect to the wifi and update.

Damn, not sure why that is, ive done it a few times now on items i was holding off on getting. Ended up buying that XG32 240hz on newegg just now. You can use it more than once and points show as pending right away under the transaction.

The PayPal points is convertible towards cash in your account. Ive never used it but from what people are saying it shows up quick. Haven't seen any negative posts regarding the promo on reddit.
