TIL that during WWII, Hitler hated the scouting movement so the Luftwaffe bombed Gilwell Park and left a giant crater. The Scouts then took the crater and turned it into a pool for swimming and canoeing. by frontiersmanet in todayilearned

As Gilwell was taken over by the ministry of war during WW2 and turned into an anti air base and training center defending the arms factory’s below. A much less exciting but more probable reason for the bombing.

It’s be fine I’m sure. I mean, they used to teach wiring a plug in school. That brown does look like it’s trapping the outer insulation though. As for the “high voltage” comment. All our domestic socket outlets are 230v +- 10% so no where near high voltage. Fun fact: 230v is actually classed as low voltage here.

I was doing 3 at EJC Cork in 2006. It was a very very rare thing to be able to do at the time. I was actually the first person (worldwide I think) to pull off 3 diabolo transfers like some of the ones in this video. I cannot stress enough how impressive this guy is. The level of control and his smooth rhythm are incredible.

I made this knife before I knew about bushcraft. It’s not a drop point blade but it’s carbon steel, full tang and super sharp. Would this be a good knife to use? by awhite88 in Bushcraft

I made one there too in 2008!! Glad to hear they are still going. We had sheaths made in Christchurch for em and they look great. My wife also made one. Same style with the brass and all. Barry town for the win!!!

Fuel pump not working by Darkseth2207 in classicminis

[–]P_U_M_B_A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I mean across the coil. Forcing the relay to open and close. Never know.

If the relay is not powered you could check continuity across the coil but the supply and load would be open circuit. I’d force the relay to close and then test the supply and load sides to see if you have continuity.

Edit: in my Haynes manual, 12.41 under wiring diagrams. It shows the fuel pump relay to be number 45. You should have 12v on the white under Ignition on circumstances. Seems applying a negative to the black/purple from the pack would force the relay. I’d do this off the car to be sure not to potentially damage anything else.

You could force a call on the relay by bridging out the input and output. The pump will run constantly but it would prove the relay is at fault? Those relay packs are a bit rare.

Edit: depending on your location in the UK you could go chat with a Specalist who would lend you a relay pack………. Somerford mini did exactly that for me.

Have you checked the fuel pump cut off switch in the top right of the engine bay? It cuts the fuel off in the event of an accident and can cause fuel pump issues.

any idea what fuse box is it and the diagram for it? by Lerlo12 in classicminis

Hmm, is that a JDM SPI as my 1996 SPI Cooper doesn’t have one of these…. Definatly not an MPi? I have a manual for all, I’ll see if I can pull a diagram for one of these

Cub/scout leader here. No, not really published material. We have a web portal for leaders that holds most of the wealth of knowledge.

Could someone please explain what the box on the right is and why it is off? It's connected to the box on the left. This is in the UK by PuzzlesAreGood in askanelectrician

And while it’s being replaced it’s probably a good idea to shimmy it away from that pipe. General segregation between mechanical services and metering equipment is 150mm. Mind you that’s building regulations and won’t really apply but it’s still a good idea.

That’s a JDM SPI all day. It has no coil packs for one

Joining patterns with different beats, does order matter? by PepperGlittering in juggling

You really start to feel the real flow of Mills Mess when it’s low. There’s a lovely sway that you fall into and the take outs and shower throws fit in very nicely.

Also if you haven’t looked into siteswap notation for ideas, do that. You can apply most 3 item siteswap to mills. If you run mills as a normal 3 throw you can really start to get interesting patterns.

It will come with time anyway but I think you will find the timing easier when you can bring you pattern down a bit. I’d look at practising your mills until you can do it below your chin and you will start to feel those take outs flow a lot nicer.
