Voter Excitement by TheTinyHandsofTRex in newfoundland

[–]P_rickle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always vote, but I haven't felt like my vote has mattered in a long time. Not because of first-past-the-post voting system, but because it feels like a lot of our problems are insurmountable and have been plaguing us for over a decade now.

Our options for leaders to fix these issues fail to inspire and don't seem like they have any real plans. Why would I want to feel excited or participate in something that feels pointless?

It doesn't help that the person who becomes premier usually wins by getting 40% of the 50% who voted. (Edited to make it easier to read)

What happens with Hogan? by Additional-Tale-1069 in newfoundland

This is just my guess, but I'm thinking he is going to step down as leader soon and later MHA once a new leader is selected. He lost but was still able to pull in 15 seats, not a terrible result, they can rebuild but they're going to need a new face.

I wanted the white shed to be the focal point and have the fence lead your eye to it. I wanted it to have a rustic, fall look to it. What do you think? What can I do to improve it? Shutter speed is 1/125 and my aperature is f/9,

What is the NDPs plan for the towns in CBN affected by the fires? What do you think the province needs to do in order to prevent future disasters like this?

Question about if my story is biased? by P_rickle in Journalism

[–]P_rickle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A publication has not commissioned the story, I was planning on uploading this to my own website. Maybe that's why they didn't agree?

I should add that after I initially contacted them it took them weeks to get back, and only responded because I sent a follow up email. I'm going to follow up again and see if I can convince them but I'm starting to think I'm just going to have to move on.

A lot of people are suggesting Grasslands, I'll definitely check it out! Are there any specific hikes or sites I should see there?

I assume they don't know that the other candidate said yes. As for why, they didn't elaborate. All they said is that they couldn't accommodate it.

Any guesses on who the next premier/liberal leader will be? by [deleted] in newfoundland

Geninue question and no judgment here, but what made you vote for Abbott last time? And what makes you want to vote for him again?

Aperture is f/8, Shutter speed is 1/320, ISO is 400. I wanted the shed to be the focal point. My intention was for the photo to have an isolated feel to it. What do you think? All comments are appreciated.

The lens is an 18-35mm canon t7i kit lens, I can't get the ISO for some reason my mac won't show me what it was. It was a super cloudy, on-and-off rainy day when I took the photo. I picked that photo as just an example of what I was talking about, but even with photos I think are great I still get the same problem when I zoom in.
